Booked Bill for a walleye trip and he did not disappoint! We were on fish in no time at all and hit our limit easily. Bill was knowledgeable, friendly and patient. I will certainly be booking another charter with him in the future.

Fishing with Bill

Ice fishing and Lake Erie pair well, and you can expect a fair amount of Perch. Northern Pike and Brown Trout are biting on Lake Ontario – there's a lot of good fishing battles to be had, so bundle up and head out.

It's still very chilly outside, but you can go ice fishing for Perch and Walleye on Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, and there's plenty of Lake Trout to hook on the Niagara River. There's also some good Pike action you can enjoy.

As the temperatures rise, the ice is slowly melting, but the waters are still cold and you'll have to go to deeper parts of the lakes to find a solid bite. Steelhead and Trout are the most frequent catches this month, as well as some Musky and Pike.

The Niagara River produces a good number of Lake and Brown Trout, as well as Steelhead. You can find a decent amount of Perch on Lake Ontario, not to mention Chinook and Coho Salmon. There's more and more Walleye swimming around in Lake Erie, too.

This is one of the top months to target Salmon and Trout out of Buffalo. Fishing for Walleye, Bass, and Trout is usually good on the Upper Niagara River, and Lake Erie Walleye are becoming more active in the shallow waters.

The Southtowns Walleye Association Walleye Tournament is this month, and you can catch a lot of good-sized Walleye and Smallmouth Bass all around the city waters. The Muskellunge season is open and Salmon action is fantastic!

Summer is the best time to target just about anything. Going after Chinook Salmon never disappoints on Lake Ontario, and there's plenty of Trout in the Niagara River. Bass and Walleye fishing on Lake Erie is as good as ever.

Bass and Walleye are biting left and right on Lake Erie, and it's the same on the Niagara River. Salmon fishing is good on Lake Ontario, and it will only get better as the fall approaches. Trout are also abundant and ready to gulp down your bait.

Both on the Upper Niagara River and Lake Erie, Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass start to hide around rocks and vegetation as the weather cools down, so cast your line in these areas. King and Coho Salmon are active, as well as Pike, Musky, and Walleye.&nbsp;

Perch and Walleye are still going strong on Lake Erie, and the Niagara River is teeming with Coho and Chinook Salmon. Steelhead and Salmon are also popular catches on Lake Ontario, and let's not forget about Brown Trout.

Rainbow Trout are the main act on Lake Erie, along with some Jumbo Perch. The Musky season usually closes by the end of the month, but you can still catch plenty of Lake and Brown Trout when fishing Lake Ontario.

With the holiday season comes cold weather and excellent ice fishing conditions on Lake Erie. On the Niagara River, you can expect Bass, Trout, and Steelhead, while King Salmon rule Lake Ontario. If you're a winter person, you'll have a blast fishing in Buffalo, NY.

The new year is here but Rochester's fleet will have to wait a bit longer before heading out to Lake Ontario. Ice fishing enthusiasts are, however, swarming the area's ponds and lakes targeting Panfish like Bluegill.

The sportfishing boats are yet to be put in the water but the fishing grounds surrounding the lake are still holding some good action. Try the bite at the bays or the Genesee River and the season will be here before you know it.

March can be a pretty eventful month for anglers in Rochester, rewarding those who know where to find pockets of warm water. You can look forward to some Brown Trout, but don't expect temperatures in Rochester to rise too much just yet.

April is the perfect opportunity for you to catch some Brown Trout in Rochester, with bigger specimens weighing well over 20 pounds. A variety of fish including Coho, Chinook, and Steelhead can also keep anglers busy at this time of year.

It may be still early but, if luck serves you, you may be able to run into some spring Coho Salmon as they spread throughout the lake. Brown Trout are popular targets this time of year and you'll likely see some good-sized ones.

In June, Cohos tend to show up all across the Lake. This is the perfect time to catch up if you missed them during spring. The considerably higher temperatures mean that fishing for Steelhead is on the rise, as well.

Salmon, Steelhead and Brown Trout are pretty easy to find along the entirety of the coast of Lake Ontario. If you intend to spend your summer looking for big fish, Rochester will most definitely not disappoint you.&nbsp;

Salmon are getting ready to head to the rivers to spawn but are still present in the lake in August. Take advantage of this chance and land a tasty catch. Alternatively, go after Lake Trout, which are abundant at this time of year.

Just like most New York ports, Rochester is all about Salmon fishing in September. It's the perfect time to catch your limit of this amazing fish and have fun doing it. The Trout bite is not slowing down either and, on longer trips, you may be able to go after both.

Fishing for Steelhead and Salmon in Lake Ontario is one of the better ways to mark the end of the season. And don't worry – in case the weather on the Lake isn't as ideal as you'd hoped for, Salmon and Trout can be found in the Genesee River.

The season on Lake Ontario is over for most captains. However, it's not the time to start summing up the year just yet, as Rainbow Trout are feeding aggressively during this time and are waiting for anglers willing to rise to the challenge.

If you're looking for big fish, try catching yourself some Steelhead. December in Rochester means lots of snow but getting the best out of the Genesee is a worthy challenge. This is the perfect way to start off your holiday season.
