My name is Fabian Philip, owner and guide at Reef & Reel Inshore Fishing St. Lucia. My connection with the sea began long before this became a business. Growing up in Saint Lucia, some of my earliest memories are of fishing from the rocks and around the mangroves, learning the coastline and enjoying the simple excitement of never knowing what might be on the end of the line.
After spending many years living in the UK, I returned home with a desire to reconnect with that part of my childhood and share it with others. That is how Reef & Reel came about.
For me, it’s not simply about taking visitors out on a boat to catch fish. I want people to experience a more authentic side of Saint Lucia—fishing close to shore, hearing local stories, learning how we fish, and discovering the connection between the sea, our food, and our culture.
Many visitors are looking for more than the usual tourist experience. They want to meet local people, discover something genuine, and leave with a story to remember. Whether we catch plenty of fish or simply enjoy a beautiful few hours on the water, my goal is for every guest to experience a little piece of the Saint Lucia I grew up with.
Reef & Reel is my way of sharing that experience personally, one trip at a time.

5 Hour – Catch & Cook Adventure • 2 adultsThis was absolute home run! Fabian and his crew were not only professional and knowledgeable, they were fun and genuine! it felt like we were fishing with our friends and family! the fishing was amazing as well! This isn't your typical sit on a boat and troll for hours to land 1 or 2 fish. this was very interactive and unique, and we were landing a fish almost every cast. the snapper and grooper are everywhere, and we got lucky and landed a pretty sweet Black Jak. after all this fun, they will clean and cook you one of the most tasty meals you'll ever have! The ladies down at seagulls bar and grill are artists when it comes to coming this fresh fish!! the hospitality and service was out of this world! you definitely don't get this kind of experience anywhere else! near or far from Rodney Bay, make this trip a priority if you truly want to have the St. Lucian experience! thank you again Fabian and everyone at reef and reel!
