Fishing has been in my blood for as long as I can remember. I’m a Florida native, and I grew up fishing everything from freshwater lakes and rivers to the saltwater of Tampa Bay and the Gulf. Long before I became Captain Doug, fishing was simply part of who I was. My time in the U.S. Navy took me around the world and gave me the opportunity to wet a line in places I never imagined I’d see. Every destination was different, but the feeling was always the same—the anticipation of the next bite and the stories created with the people around you. No matter how far I traveled, Tampa Bay was always home. I’ve spent a lifetime learning these waters, watching the weather, tides, and seasons change, and enjoying everything this incredible area has to offer. That lifetime on the water eventually became SunChaser Charters. What drives my business today isn’t simply putting fish in the cooler. I want families, friends, experienced anglers, and people holding a fishing rod for the very first time to experience what I’ve loved my entire life. Every charter brings a new crew and a new adventure. I want you to learn something, laugh a lot, catch some fish, and head back to the dock with a story worth telling. Because for me, fishing has never been just about the fish. It’s about where the water takes you, who you share it with, and the memories you bring home.
