I and the other two captains that work aboard Xtasea IV Charters grew up together fishing on Lake Michigan. All three of us each have 50 years of experience fishing on Lake Michigan. We decided to all get our credentials so we can share our passion for Lake Michigan with others. We have seen the place evolve over the last 50 years, and we are always keeping up with the very latest techniques and equipment.

    Fantastic trip especially for people with disabilities

    6 Hour Trip – Weekday (AM) • 6 adults • 1 child

    Captain Ray is the man! We had fish in the boat 15 minutes after leaving the harbor and he kept us on the fish for the entire trip. We caught 3 different species on this trip and not only did we catch a huge quantity of fish, every fish we pulled in was of great quality too! The boat cabin was incredibly comfortable and the back deck was very large. Most importantly Captain Ray and his 1st mate accommodated my father, who has lost a leg and is in a wheelchair. They made it very easy for him to get on and off the boat and he was able to be on deck to fight fish and be a part of all of the action. I cannot thank Captain Ray enough for making this trip possible for my dad and my family! If you want to have a first rate experience on Lake Michigan give Captain Ray a call.

    Had a great time bringing my son and his classmates. It was everyone's first lake michigan fishing experience. Captain Ray and Captain Joe made us feel right at home and were amazing hosts and experts in their trade. Will definitely be booking another trip in the future!

What's biting with Xtasea IV Charters in Waukegan

Head out onto Lake Michigan for some Lake Trout action offshore, especially around the reefs and rocky structure. You can also cast your line for Salmon, Brown Trout, and Steelhead, as well as Lakers.

Great fishing on Memorial day weekend

May 26, 2019 • Waukegan
This Memorial Weekend lead to some wonderful Salmon fishing. The fish are moving north, but the hot fishing was off the Wilmette shoreline. The bite was very heavy at times, finding us with most rods in the boat sometimes. They were not always easy to keep on the line as we ended up on Sunday with 25, but had 20 shake the hook.

Coho bite picking up south of Waukegan

May 18, 2019 • Waukegan
Rob and his group patients of Cancer Treatments Center of America had a wonderful time. The weather was perfect Saturday morning, but got tough in the afternoon. We ended up with 9 Cohos and 6 got away. Of course we caught 2 more while taking pictures.
