I contacted Captain Jared less than 24 hours before a scheduled blue fin tuna trip because the originally scheduled captain cancelled less than 24 hours before we were to go out.  He explained he had sold his boat, even though we reserved the boat and trip 5 months earlier.  Needless to say, it created a crisis situation as my customers were already inflight to Atlantic Beach.

I explained my dilemma to Captain Jared and he accepted our request for the blue fin tuna trip for the next morning.

Captain Jared was honest and totally transparent regarding the marine forecast the morning before we left the dock at 7:00 am.  He offered to reschedule our trip to the next day when the weather forecast was more friendly.  I explained that I was hosting some high profile corporate customers who had flown in from Texas and Chicago.  Captain Jared was exceptional in providing us the best opportunities to catch blue fin tuna.  We will certainly book with Captain Jared (Tombstone) in the near future.  He was undoubtedly the most ‘down to earth’ and openly honest in his interactions with our group.  Truly a great experience, even though we were not successful in catching a blue fin tuna.  Captain Jared and Tombstone are highly recommended without reservation!!!

Seas were a bit rough and the wind was blowing blowing pretty good but we got after it and managed to catch a 5 man limit of American Reds and vermillion snapper. Quite an other species like trigger fish and banks bass. Caught a couple of amberjacks and an almaco jack. Even snagged a few Mahis on the way back in. Total of 170 pounds of fish. We must have thrown back almost 200 grunts.  We think we caught upwards of 300 fish in total.

Jared is very knowledgeable about the area and did a great job of putting us on the fish in tough conditions.  Do yourself a favor and book with Tombstone Charters!
