  A great trip with Captain Wes Smith & Pier Pressure Charters

  Half Day Trip (AM) on June 5, 2026 • 6 adults

  Captain Wes Smith and Pier Pressure Charters delivered an outstanding day on Lake Michigan. From the start, Captain Wes demonstrated an impressive knowledge of the fishery, putting us on fish consistently throughout the trip. We ended the day sorting through multiple Lake Trout to reach our limit and also landed a beautiful King Salmon. We hooked into two additional Kings that unfortunately got the better of us, but that's fishing—and they certainly kept things exciting. The highlight of the trip was an absolute tank of a Lake Trout, the kind that looks like it's been enjoying an all-you-can-eat buffet for years, along with a large King Salmon that put up a great fight. Captain Wes struck the perfect balance between guiding and letting us be hands-on. Rather than simply reeling fish in for us, he encouraged us to work the rods ourselves and even handle the netting, which made the experience far more rewarding. His professionalism, patience, and willingness to share his knowledge made the trip enjoyable for both experienced anglers and newcomers alike. If you're looking for a charter that puts you on fish while still letting you feel like you've actually earned them, Pier Pressure Charters is an excellent choice. We'll definitely be back—hopefully those two escaped Kings haven't spent the last week telling their friends about us.

  captain Wes is the best

  I’ve been on many lake trout charters, but this one was hands down the best. captain Wes was the best with my you g kids 7,5, and 4. Captain Wes had no problem getting us onto fish. We hoomed up within the first ten minites. After that it was non stop action, and we doubbled up several times. Captain Wes is very respectful and extremely knowledgeable at what he does. Captain Wes has earned himself a lifetime customer. I strongly recommend going out with captain Wes. Thanks for the great time yesterday, truly appreciate it ~ Tim

  Perfect trip for my sons-in-law

  Sometimes, the best way to bond with the sons-in-law on a family vacation, is to invite them to get out of the rental house with the children, wives, card games and dishes...and get out on the water. We caught 7 lake trout and 1 king salmon in just 90 minutes. Lots of action and fun. It was hot, so the captain let us jump into the lake for a quick cool down. The men said this was the highlight of the whole trip. Captain Wes, handled it all for us. What an easy and delightful experience.

  Captain Wes thank you for a great day on the water! We took our entire family out for a day of fishing and we were not disappointed! Not only did we catch fish but we had lots of laughs!
