Coco, Costa Rica
10+ reviews
A professional fishing outfit, Costa Rica Itinerary runs numerous boats out of the stunning resort of Coco, taking you to the heart of the Pacific in search of the biggest fish. Captain Freddy owns the boats and, a licensed captain himself, now prefers to sit back and manage his two trained captains, getting on the water at his own leisure. Each member of the team is fluent in English and Spanish, and promises to do everything to make your fishing experience one to remember.

No marlin or mahi mahi, but still enjoyed the trip

    Half Day Trip (AM)2 adults

Water was a little choppy. Trawling didn’t get any bites, but the captain found a spot to fill the cooler with red snappers, which was almost too easy and very much fun. We then snorkeled, and the crew prepared an oyster and snapper ceviche right on the boat, with a delicious pina as well. They let us keep as much catch as we wanted, which we took to a restaurant right off the beach, where gladly fried it for us.

    Reported catch:
    Cubera Snapper

    not as advertised

    Half Day Trip (AM)2 adults

Pickup at your hotel is far from accurate. They will pick you up at the beach location closest to your hotel. Communication regarding that was lacking. The boat we signed up for was La Sirena Dorada, went out on something or other Orlando. There was no head, which was a hard and fast requirement. Different boat, different skipper, though a nice guy. Trolling yielded a small black skip jack tuna. The bottom fishing was sad because the hooks were DULL, the bait was soft and the fish were small, the action was slow, slow, slow. If we were fishing the coast of WA, they would have been tossed back.

Better than we expected. Half day

    Half Day Trip (AM)2 adults

Jose and Byron were great. Both knew their stuff very well. Saw all sorts of sea life. Whales, dolphins, mating turtles lol, jumping stingrays, flying fish, and even saw a shark swim under the boat. Trolled for a bit and hooked up with a good size Rooster fish. Trolling was a little slow. Then they put us on a reef and we pulled up a bunch of little Red Snapper. Then we moved and pulled up a few little Grouper fish. For the 5 hours we were on board, a lot went on. Definitely recommend!! Plus they picked us up and dropped us off at the beach right at our Resort (PH) to save us travel time. They were there early waiting for us. Helped my wife throughout the day being an amateur. Well worth the $$ spent.

    Reported catch:
    Roosterfish
    Cubera Snapper
    Broomtail Grouper
