Both were beginners and first time going fishing. The first two hours were teaching them how to use a spinning reel, cast a lure properly and safety when fishing. After that we change to using live bait and the rest of the days they were having fun catching peacock bass. We alsp show them how to properly release a fish after catching them.

We went for peacock bassing at a lake in Perak. This is the first time we fished this lake so there are lots of new things to discover and learn. Nice place where you can get quantity. We caught few peacock bass using a 5cm swimbait and 3.5g round jighead. Enjoy this video!

This lake is quite small, but it has very unique structures consisting of sandy bottom, hydrillas and limestones. Because of these structures, peacock bass here do grow into very good size where you have better chances to break your personal record than other lakes in Perak. This is one of the few lakes where you get to catch both quantity and quality. Besides peacock bass, you get the chance to fish for the protected snakehead fish know as Bujuk. They also have ready to rent chalets besides the lake. Book the chalets for one night, you get to fish Lembah Jernih from a private area for two days. Very convenient!

Lake Prima in Puchong is the nearest and biggest lake in Kuala Lumpur where you can fish for peacock bass in a boat. This lake is perfect for urban fishing where you can catch plenty of peacock bass using live baits or challenge yourself to catch peacock bass on a lure. There are also really big toman in this lake though it takes lots of efforts to catch one on a lure. If you have some few hours to go fishing, and you one to tick peacock bass off your bucket list, we highly recommend you to try this lake.
