I was raised in VA Beach, VA. As a youngster, I fished around lakes and the ocean. This area would be the location where my love for water took place. Maybe not the time when I was 5 and my dad threw me in the ocean, by my ankles, to teach me to swim. It didn't take long to get a bodyboard and a surfboard under my arm. Having 2 older brothers really helped when going on fishing adventures early in life. We came up with all kinds of reasons to leave the house and go surfing or fishing. It wasn't long till we started heading south, to the uncrowded beaches of the Outer Banks of NC. This is where I live now, with my 2 daughters Lily and Maddy, along with my wonderful wife Erin. My two older brothers live nearby and we have 7 children between the three of us to enjoy raising here on the beach. After learning the local ways of fishing techniques, I became passionate about taking friends fishing at different times of the year. I received my Captain's license soon after and never looked back!

    Half Day Trip (PM) • 5 adults

    Aaron created widespread stoke throughout our party of 5. After starting our trip off right with a fisherman's prayer we had an early morning launch on glassy windless waters. Aaron's vessel perfect for sound or deep water and his convo entertaining with fish and surf tales that kept hope alive. Forever the optimist he led the search until we struck gold, trout led the catch followed by a few respectable red drum that when broiled to perfection as the sunset made for a tasty dinner. Thanks Aaron for the day. Hope return soon.

    our goal was to catch some big drum during our family vacation. Captain Aaron came prepared and we tried multiple locations and setups till we finally hooked up with our target. Everyone caught fish, and we hope to fish with him again for Cobia in the future!

What's biting with Carolina Sunrise / Cobiakiller in Wanchese

While many may want to stay close to shore during November to try to fill the boat with Drum, Trout, and Bass, there's still plenty going on offshore, where the Tuna bite is in its prime!

Mid to late April offers an excellent time here on the Outer Banks, to kick the summer off right! We cruise down to either Hatteras or backside Oregon Inlet, chasing what some folks call Redfish but here locally better know as Drum. I’m not too partial on what you call them, I call them a blast!! We primarily cruise the shallow, clear water beaches in search of a school that we can sightcast to. Casting metal spoons and custom Meathog bugtail jigs usually get it done. It’s a ton of fun and I really hope some of you out there are able to come join in on the party. Give us a shout here on Fishingbooker and we’ll get ya hooked up???
