Tyler was fantastic!!  He had us onto fish the minute he stopped the boat.  The gear was ready and after a quick and explicit demonstration on technique, it was only minutes before the first barracuda hit and they just kept coming.  Tyler was very careful removing the hooks and releasing.  He had a tough crowd of fish biologists on board.

We then moved on to look for bone fish and mangrove snappers along with a host of others.  Those two are the ones I remember. LOL   Tyler took us into the mangroves where we caught snappers!

The day was spectacular, sunny and warm.  The water clear.  We saw sharks, skip jacks and a leather back turtle.  The mangroves were awesome.  All we can say besides what a wonderful time is, it went by way to quick.

The directions to the boat ramp where we were picked up by Tyler were perfect.  However, if you have never gone fishing from this area before, it appears that all boats have a dock and name, but that is not the case.  So just stay at the boat ramp and they will pick you up at the designated time.

The boat was quality and very clean. The fishing gear was in good condition and stored very well.  Tyler was knowledgeable with a good sense of humor and very pleasant. 

We took the backcountry private charter. Thank you Always Something Charters and Tyler, we’ll be back next year!!!!

Captain Chandler kept the boat clean, the gear was solid, and Captain Chandler took the time to explain what we were doing and why, which made the trip even better. During our trip we caught 3 great sized mangrove snappers and ended up bringing one of them to KAYA off Duval street for a “bring your own catch meal” and it was out of this world. Overall, it was a great day on the water and exactly what you hope for when booking a charter on the Key West flats. Highly recommend fishing with Captain Chandler would definitely book again!

The boat was clean and well kept and ran great! Captain Tyler was friendly and VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE and knew the “sweet spots” to take us to catch some fish…and catch fish we did!!! My son is 15 and loves to fish (we were visiting from Colorado) and thanks to Tyler’s expertise and my son’s experience with fishing, he was able to land some impressive and versatile fish! We were very impressed with Tyler and his knowledge of the area and they way he kept an eye on the sky to make sure we didn’t get caught up in any nasty weather. The day ended with a beautiful sunset and we are so grateful for the experience! I highly recommend this fishing trip and I know captain Tyler will do his best to make sure everyone on board has the best (and safe) trip possible! So as long as the fish cooperate, I am SURE you will catch at least one…but likely more! :) We will be back! Thank you!

We travelled to the keys from Canada to take our 16 year old son fishing in a new environment. With thunderstorms in the area there was great communication on a possible delay on our departure, but we ended up leaving on time. We went out in the afternoon trip with captain Tyler, who took us to a few different spots around mangrove islands. All of us caught several barracudas, which was so much fun! We also spotted tarpon, a shark, and a turtle, and we loved watching hundreds of massive frigatebirds flying all around us and covering the mangroves. It felt like Jurassic park! Thank you captain Tyler for your expertise and entertaining stories. We will definitely go again when we’re back!

We had an amazing 3 hours on the water with Captain Tyler! We told him we had taken another trip a few weeks prior and didn’t catch a fish. Within a half hour we were on barracuda and then an amazing experience catching a shark. He then moved us to more amazing spots and caught some snapper. On top of that we took the 3pm which made the ride back amazing as we watched the sunset. Highly recommend and will be booking again soon!
