Wow just awesome everything delivered as promised,  Everything on time, and highly recommended.  Fished with fly, spinner, and live bait available if wanted.  We literally caught hundreds of fish in 2 half days.  Peacock bass with some trophy fish on fly and spinner.  Snook and jacks on fly rod and spinner lures.  Had schools of Tarpon rolling.  Gerardo is a skilled fisherman who knows the water and area like the back of his hand. You will find him likeable and friendly.  The boat was docked at the beautiful Gamboa Rainforest lodge, and it was comfortable, clean, and organized.  It is set up for fishing only and not a ponga tourist boat like many guides use there.  I can not express how happy we were with every aspect of the trip.  There are absolutely no negative comments.  Experienced fishermen will be more than satisfied, as well as opportunities for families and novices.  Gerardo will patiently teach you how to fish these waters and is ecstatic to witness your successes.  I have been on many fishing expeditions on Gatun as well as other locations, and nothing compares.  The best trip of 65 years being a fisherman.  If I have left something out it can only be positive.  Book without trepidation with very reasonable rates.

Our fishing trip near Gamboa in Panama was absolutely unforgettable! We had an incredible day on the water, reeling in a bunch of vibrant, hard-fighting peacock bass that made for nonstop action and excitement. The lake itself was stunning, with calm waters and beautiful surroundings that added to the experience. What really made the trip stand out was Captain Gerardo—he was exceptionally knowledgeable, professional, and clearly passionate about fishing. He knew exactly where to go and what techniques to use, ensuring we had a successful and enjoyable outing. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide or a better day of fishing!

Had an amazing day on the water! First target peacock bass. Started with some smalls ones to warmup, then we got into some studs! Got my fill of peacock bass, then target snook! Got my personal best snook while trolling. Finally, get to see some monkeys. I can’t recommend Gatun Sportfishing enough! Professional and knowledgeable guides makes the difference!

Gerardo our captain picked us up at our resort on time. He worked extremely hard putting us on fish. He is very knowledgeable and taught us the techniques needed to catch fish. We caught 5 different species in excess of 30 fish!  Of the many fishing excursions we have done in Canada and around the world,  Gerardo rates in the top 2 and the best outside of Canada. He is also very knowledgeable about Panama and was able to answer all of our question in depth. My wife and l both highly recrecommend Gerardo.

Gerardo was a phenomenal captian! He showed us different monkeys on the way out to the fishing spot. It was relaxing and enjoyable to see and learn about the different monkeys. The fun had just begun. We started catching fish right away. We caught multiple species, smaller fish, and bigger fish. We caught fish with live bait and artificial top water baits. The top water baits were fun to see the fish strike at the surface. Overall a great trip and would do it again.
