Gerardo our captain picked us up at our resort on time. He worked extremely hard putting us on fish. He is very knowledgeable and taught us the techniques needed to catch fish. We caught 5 different species in excess of 30 fish!  Of the many fishing excursions we have done in Canada and around the world,  Gerardo rates in the top 2 and the best outside of Canada. Gerardo was a phenomenal captian! He showed us different monkeys on the way out to the fishing spot. It was relaxing and enjoyable to see and learn about the different monkeys. The fun had just begun. We started catching fish right away. We caught multiple species, smaller fish, and bigger fish. We caught fish with live bait and artificial top water baits. The top water baits were fun to see the fish strike at the surface. Overall a great trip and would do it again.

Our captain/fishing guide went out of his way to make our visit in Panama memorable. We came on a cruise ship so our time was limited and did not fit their normal fishing schedule. Gerardo, our guide, transported us in his own car from the cruise ship to Gatun lake. He completely adjusted his schedule to fit ours. Can’t due justice in a review to what a great trip I had with Gerardo and Gatún Sportfishing.  Started the day getting the blood flowing with jack crevalle on top water and looked for some tarpon.  After the bite slowed down we made a few quick passes for snook and with no interest from the fish moved on to chase peacock bass.  We crushed the peacock bass fishing spooks, poppers, jerk baits and spent an hour or so throwing flies at them.  If they were playing hard to get Gerardo was prepared...
