Captain James and his wife were amazing! My boyfriend and I treated my boyfriend’s dad to a fishing trip for his birthday. It was my and my boyfriend’s first time fishing in the ocean. We just had an absolutely incredible time deep-sea fishing with Captain James! From start to finish, it was a 5-star experience. Even with two people in our group who had never been on a fishing boat before, our guide was phenomenal—patient, knowledgeable, and made everyone feel comfortable and excited. Captain James did a great job. As soon as we got offshore, the wind picked up considerably making it very difficult to fish the spots that Captain James brought us to. He worked very hard in difficult boating, circumstances to get us on some fish. We caught some mahi, which was great then we moved closer to shore and caught a couple of amberjack which were really fun Captain James filleted our mahi perfectly and we went on our way. I definitely recommend using Captain James and Apex charters.

My 2 sons (15 & 17) and I went out with Captain James and his wife.  It was a beautiful day, some fairly rough seas to start off but got better as the morning went on.  The bottom bite was very slow but Captain James was able to put us on the Mahi and we tagged out.  Went home with a freezer full of fish!  Captain James was great with updating us on what we were going to do and how we were going to do it.  We will definitely be back next year, we had an absolute blast!

The captain was very professional, there were some changes in the weather that the captain did a very good job of paying attention to, and letting me know before the trip even started. Captain James still had a great plan put together even with last minute changes. Was put on to some incredible fishing. Captain James was honest and fair. Will be using Apex charters again!!!!
