- Background
- Captain Erik Johnson’s passion for fishing started at a young age. Growing up in Pennsylvania, he spent his time fishing for Walleye, Bass, and Perch on Lake Erie. He and his dad, who he considers his mentor, spent countless hours on the bayfront. When he was 9 years old, the family relocated to Fort Myers, Florida, which he still calls home today. After 15 years on the tournament circuit, Capt. Erik decided to share his passion by becoming a guide and giving back to the community by sharing his fishing knowledge. There’s nothing Captain Erik loves more than seeing someone catch their first fish! Head down to Fort Meyers and check out Red N Sea Charters for the memories of a lifetime!
- Techniques
- Captain Erik is a back bay fishing kind of guy. He uses live bait, cut bait, and lures, depending on the species he’s targeting. Most of the fishing he does is in the Florida shallows, where the water is less than 5 feet deep. During Tarpon season he’s happy to head into the deeper waters off of the beaches and passes!
