- Background
- I am a third generation commercial fisherman in southern Louisiana and I have been fishing the area since childhood. I first began guiding hunting and fishing trips in the Houma La area in 1993. I provide safe trips with guaranteed fish and plenty of local knowledge.
- Techniques
- The general techniques we use are to throw artificial lures on light tackle at tailing Redfish (4 to 15 pound size) over grassy flats in less than a foot of water. We will pick out the fish we want to catch and watch the fish eat the bait. If the weather is calm enough we will throw topwater plugs for the ultimate in shallow Redfish action. We also fish for Bull Redfish (15 to 50+ pounds) using cracked crab in the deeper passes when the season and the weather allows. We can also catch spotted sea trout as an option when the customer requests. The trout will be located along the barrier islands near the passes during the summer and move inshore during the other months. Redfish, spotted sea trout and several other species are available to catch year round in the Dularge,Cocodrie, Chauvin and Houma area.
