Fun fishing in Madeira Island!

Today we had a lovely morning aboard Balancal, a shared bottom fishing charter. The sea conditions have been on and off but this morning we managed to put a great group of people together for a trip! The highlight was this 4kg red snapper (pargo cabeçudo), a rare example of the species due to its bulky head! Congrats to our clients and crew!

A fun morning out, went 0-1 to a white marlin, unfortunately it shook the hook a few minutes in... At least some dinner for our clients who caught this Skipjack and Dorado on some light gear, great fun!

Captain and crew were very friendly. Snacks and drinks were OK. So it was a real good fishing trip. We did trolling for four hours. But we didn’t have any bite. Thats what fishing is like. Thanks to the fishing team of balancal. See you again next year. Regards, Günter

Capt Salomao, Nelson and Anibal were amazing. Worked very hard for our fish. Made sure we had the best time. We did catch a lot of smaller fish that we kept but they tried to put us on to Mahi Mahi. When I return this is the only crew I will go with.

It was our first time on Madeira and i paid for my hubby to go Wahoo fishing for his birthday. He wasnt disappointed. The crew knew exactly what they were doing, very dedicated to their jobs and obviously enjoy it. Enjoyed every minute of it… especially eating it after in a local restaurant it was delicious. It was over 3ft long and 55kgs plenty to go around !
