Captain and first mate were wonderful and accommodating!  We had two adults and four kids (7 thru 11) and no problems.  Youngest got to reel in a couple of wahoo, with some help.  Unfortunately, wahoo are hard to get in the boat and they both slipped off at the last second. On a day when other boats reported no catches and few bites, we had six wahoo bites ( the other four cut the line), a barracuda (almost got it in the boat) a marlin bite, a tuna bite, and four simultaneous mahi mahi (dolphinfish) strikes; two of which we were able to get on the boat.  We did so well that other boats were chasing Double Hook to try to get some of the action!  The two mahi we kept were about 20lbs; not giant, but delicious!  It was a wonderful experience and we would absolutely recommend!

Provided: fishing gear, bait, drinks, chips, bathroom, and couches for tired kids to pass out.

We brought: sunscreen, sandwiches, and motion sickness meds.

The captain and mate are both very knowledgeable and friendly. We trolled for around 2 hours before we hooked up on a large blue marlin around 400 pounds. Unfortunately the hook pulled maybe 60 yards from the boat. The mate set everything back up and we resumed trolling. We trolled for a few hours and another marlin comes up in the teaser, the mate pitched at it and hooked up on the second marlin. The line snapped on its initial run and not even 2 minutes later a third blue marlin hits and gets hooked. We fought the marlin for 4 hours with the captain and mate helping and teaching me the whole time. They stayed out multiple hours past when the charter was supposed to end so that I could land the marlin and were extremely nice about it. We got back to the dock at dark and they filleted the marlin and gave us as much meat as we wanted. They treated us like family and they included us in the tradition of when you land your first marlin of jumping off the dock. And the mate even drove us to the grocery store so we could buy ice and a cooler for the meat. This was by far the best charter I’ve ever done and helped make my dream of catching a marlin come true.

As a mom I can’t say thank you enough to the captain and his first mate. The kindness and patience they showed my son was well above and beyond what would be expected from a charter.  I feel most would have cut the line. They genuinely wanted my son to reel in his first Marlin and truly created a life long memory.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.  I will recommend this charter to anyone that wants to fish in San Juan!

My Family of 5 had a great Boating Experience today with Double Hook Charters. Although we didn’t catch any fish, we had beautiful weather, rolling seas, awesome tunes and great company. The crew did everything in their power to get us “hooked in” for blue marlin, tuna or blue wahoo but the fish were definitely shy and couldn’t be “lured-in” (pun intended)….The crew spent an additional hour of their own time trying to get get a “fish on” for us and we really appreciated the effort and I definitely feel we had a 5-Star experience!…Will Re-Charter with Double Hook when we visit Puerto Rico again.

Had a great time with Captain Humberto and first mate Adrian. We went for the full 8 hours and I highly recommend the full day if you’re on the fence about it. We started off catching a nice Kingfish and decided to keep it! A few hours later we reeled in a “small” 175lb Blue Marlin! As it was the beginning of the season we were super happy with it! Adrian answered a ton of questions we had. At the end of the trip, captain Humberto filleted the kingfish and then walked with us up to the club restaurant where they cooked up our catch. Such a cool experience and a great time!
