I was born in Ohio and at the age of 2 I moved to Florida. I have been fishing these waters from the young age of 5. In the 6th grade I decided there was nothing else I wanted to do and that I wanted to be a private guide. Since then I have been doing everything to accomplish that.

2 Hour Trip • 4 adultsive booked charters in verious different places but hands down by far Captain Mason exceeded any and all my expectations. I took my family with me, with the youngest being 8 years of age (F). Mason ensured she was comfortable, pointed out dolphins for her, and also engaged with my teenage son telling him where and how to cast to maximize his catching. One point my son had lost his set up ( sinker, hook, and bait) and Mason had him back in the water in 3 minutes. My wife and I were genuinely happy during this whole experience. We will definitely be coming back! Thank you Captain Mason for the great conversation, and putting us on the fish!

2 Hour Trip - 10:00 AM • 4 adults • 2 childrenCaptain Mason was amazing. We took our grandkids aged nine and 11 and they had the time of their life. He was so good with them. He talked with them. He showed them what to do told him all about the fish. He was amazing. He knew the right spots to go. He baited our lines for us. My nine-year-old is a girl the 11-year-old is a boy. it was amazing. I can’t say enough great things about Captain Mason!!! If you’re looking to book a fishing trip reach out to Captain Mason he is the best and when we come back, we will definitely do another one with him and refer him to our family members!!!

1 HR Quick cast • 2 adultsMy husband and I booked the one hour session witg Captain Mason not expecting to catch much if any… boy were we wrong! In one hour, my husband caught 10 fish and I caught 9!! We reeled in all sorts non-stop! We got mostly speckled trout but also a catfish and another kind that I cannot recall the name of! Mason was kind and easy to talk to! He baited our hooks & took the fish off like a pro. He brought multile types of bait- shrimp & others types of fish. He gave us great local spots to check out as well. This has been the highlight of our honeymoon! Thanks, Captain Mason! Book with him! You won’t regret it!

half day (morning) • 3 adultsI booked a trip with my boys to have some fun and make some memories. Captain Mason helped me do just that. Even though August can be a challenging time to find good fishing, Mason put us on some great spots. We caught 10 species of fish and had a blast! Mason was fun and easy to talk to. We left with a bag full of fillets and memories that will last a lifetime. Would book again with him in a heartbeat!

half day (morning) • 2 adultsMason helped us land huge redfish under docks and near the mangroves. Captain Mason was super chill and a really cool dude - super accomodating as well. We ALMOST caught either a goliath grouper or tarpon (north of 100-150 lbs) under the bridge - the fight was ridiculous and well remember that for our entire lives. Overall, this was an amazing trip and im so glad we fished with Captain Mason and the Finseekers

It's finally a bit easier to breathe and with the lower water temperatures come King and Spanish Mackerel on their southwards migration. Baitfish invade the local waters with Redfish and more on their tails. Fishing is hot!

Winter Fishing This Past Week

Captain Mason and his clients embarked on a 6-hour fishing expedition this past Saturday, leaving a lasting impression with an exceptional haul of diverse and spirited catches.
Offshore Expedition:
The journey kicked off offshore, where the team targeted big gag grouper. The offshore action was nothing short of extraordinary, with the clients successfully hooking into numerous impressive gags. The pinnacle of the offshore adventure came with the landing of a very nice 27-inch gag grouper. Excitement filled the air as a couple of potentially even larger fish tested the strength of the gear, leaving lasting memories of the ones that got away. Notably, a 21-inch red grouper was reeled in six miles out in 30 feet of water, adding another highlight to the day. The clients also caught two keeper grey triggerfish and a plentiful bounty of quality Key West grunts.
Tactics and Techniques:
The offshore success was achieved using large pinfish as bait, strategically dropped in approximately 30 feet of water. The choice of bait and depth proved to be the winning combination, enticing the gags to bite and leading to an unforgettable offshore trip.
Inshore Adventure:
As the trip transitioned inshore for the final hour, the action continued unabated. Over 20 redfish made their way to the boat along with a permit, providing an exciting climax to an already fruitful day. Shrimp and cut bait were the baits of choice, and the redfish eagerly responded.
Over all the winter fishing has been some of the best that we've seen in years!

THE SPRING FISHING IS ON FIRE!!

Whether you're fishing offshore or inshore, it's been a hot bite recently. Out on the open water, big mangrove snapper, key west grunts, and porgys have been plentiful. The king mackerel have also still been hanging around, and the abundance of bait fish has brought in plenty of Spanish mackerel as well. We have also been running into large shivers of smaller sharks which can make for fun sport.
Inshore, it's been a great time for redfish and snook fishing, as the snook have been showing up in large numbers. It's exciting to see the arrival of tarpon season, as we recently spotted our first pod of them right off the beach. As always we encourage responsible fishing practices and hope your coolers stay full and your lines stay tight!
