  Perfect First Kayak Fishing Experience

  San Diego Bay – Kayak Fishing Trip on August 1, 2026 • 1 adult

  This was my first time fishing from a kayak, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Chris Hoobie was an outstanding guide—friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and clearly passionate about fishing. We spent the morning exploring San Diego Bay, and I caught my first spotted sand bass. Chris took the time to explain techniques, point out local wildlife, and made sure I was comfortable and having a great time from start to finish. If you’re looking for a fun, laid-back adventure whether you’re a beginner or an experienced angler, I highly recommend TC’s Kayaking Fishing Adventures. I’ll definitely be booking another trip the next time I’m back in San Diego. Thanks again, Chris, for making this one of the highlights of my trip!

  Chris was super helpful in explaining the setup, moving us around to try and find the right spots, and being patient and helpful with my 11 year old son who is fishing obsessed. We caught a bunch of little guys in the surf today which was fun since he just wanted to cast and catch regardless. Great trip and really informative for us to know how to properly fish the surf in the future too. Would totally book again.

  Beautiful day on the water. The little kayaks were good tracking and we found a couple fish willing to play. Definitely could use better directions to the meeting place. The initial pinned location sent me to the Naval Base. Just tell folks to put “USS RECRUIT” in their maps and that works much better. The pinned directions ate up a good 15 minutes of time on the water.

  we are two little kids two adults, and we all caught fish, we learned a lot about the equipment and the fish in the area, and they were super fun guys. I would recommend these guys to everyone and anyone.!
