- Background
- If you are reading this we probably have a lot in common already. I was very lucky to have grown up in an incredible family and fishing was always our favorite activity. The memories we make with family and friends are really all we have and well, what experiences measure up to those fishing trips you had with your dad, grandfather, uncle, etc.? Exactly. I am new on FishingBooker, but am celebrating 17 years in business. I'm a college graduate and former insurance agent. I was a competitive and winning tournament fisherman for over a decade before I decided to start my charter business in 2005. The extreme competitive nature I have on the water stems from my total obsession growing up, playing baseball. Couple that with my good humor and even better manners and you have the beginnings of a pretty good fishing guide. Now factor in my safety record, its pretty good. After thousands of trips, I haven't had a single accident or incident. My niche groups are families with kids. Tight lines
- Techniques
- It's now summer and the majority of my trips are spent targeting snook in shallow waters. There are some other species mixed in like trout, jack crevalle, shark, flounder, and even sting rays. Typically we are anchored up and fishing with light tackle. Spinning reels are loaded with 10-20 lb PowerPro braided line with 30-40 lb leader. Live shiners free lined or with split shot producing best results. Timing is key as I reccomend fishing outgoing tides whenever possible.
