Brian has been a passionate outdoorsman from an early age, exploring Northern Michigan and Michigan's Upper Peninsula. In 2019, he started sharing his wealth of knowledge with other anglers and working in the outdoor industry. Brian's extensive experience also includes working as a fly fishing guide in the Central Alaskan backcountry. When he's not with his clients, Brian spends his time on the water and in the woods, looking for shed antlers and picking mushrooms. As a Michigander, he spends the late fall days hunting for white-tailed deer.

    Great trip for my son and I

    4 Hour Trip (AM) • 2 adults • 1 child

    Brain was very knowledgeable and willing to share his expertise with both my son and I. The fish unfortunately were not biting that day but it wasn't for lack of trying. Brian went over the time slot to try to catch us one and threw every trick he knew at the fish but they weren't having it that day. Would definitely book with him again, we had a great day on the boat!

    Brian is so personable, it felt like we’ve known him for years! He taught us tricks and things we didn’t know and we caught a monster in the first hour of being out on the water. Already looking forward to next year, thanks Brian!!

    had a great time with Brian we didnt get on many fish but my 4 year old came along and Brian did great putting up with him and got him on a fish, would recommend! hope to make it back for the salmon run and will be booking wirh Brian if we do.

    Pike on the fly

    6 Hour Trip – Afternoon (PM) • 1 adult

    Great experience with Capt. Brian fly fishing for Pike in the river. Brian was patient with my beginner fly skills and helped me net my first pike on the fly. Highly recommend Brian to any and all levels of fly fisherman.

    Had a great trip with Mark and my 15 and 11 yo sons. We were busy catching fish our entire 8 hour trip. Mark put us on a great spot, he was very patient and a good teacher to my 11 year old son. Mark was pleasant and friendly the entire trip, one of our best trips we have been on.

    Myself and my twin 9 year old boys went on a northern pike adventure with Captain Brian. He handled the two of them incredibly well- was very patient and taught for the entire 6 hours we were out there. Both boys learned so much and came away from the trip feeling very successful even though the fish were elusive. We’d definitely go out with Captain Brian again and recommend anybody who wants a relaxed, calm, and challenging trip do the same. The boat was clean, big enough for the four of us to not hook each other (even with the 9 year olds casting), and easy to fish from. Overall, a great experience especially since many of the charter trips go out on Lake Michigan and are a little over my kid’s heads. We had a great day and are thankful to have found Captain Brian!

    I had never booked a fishing trip and had never used FishingBooker so I really didn’t know what I was getting into to find a good guide. I decided to take a chance on Due North Guide Service, mainly because it was fairly priced and what reviews he had everyone seemed happy. I went for the salmon run 10-7-2023 with my dad, It was more than either of us had expected. We caught 3 fish by the mouth, which are the legal keepers, that we actually got in to the boat. Caught probably 5 that got off the hook after a good fight. And caught 5 more that were hooked in the tail. Let me tell you, when you hook them by the tail and they’re in that fast current, they are dang near impossible to get back to the boat. Lol but the guide was fun, if you like to joke around and have a good time while fishing, then Brian is your person to book with. I also thought it was cool that there were hundreds of fish swimming around all over in crystal clear water. He even kept untangling my dads pole every 5 minutes, because you use a really long lead and my dad kept getting it wrapped around the pole. Lol Book with Due North and you won’t be disappointed! See you next year buddy! *(the pictures don’t seem like the water is clear, but you can see all the way to the bottom)
