August and September: Biminiโ€™s Final Blu
August and September: Biminiโ€™s Final Blu
Jul 29, 2026 Dania Beach
The blue marlin season in Bimini may peak during June and July, but the action does not simply stop when August arrives. August and September represent the final push of the summer marlin seasonโ€”and these closing weeks can still produce the fish of a lifetime. Warm Gulf Stream water, strong current edges, floating debris, weed lines, and concentrations of tuna and mahi-mahi can hold blue marlin within reach of Bimini. August generally offers the more consistent opportunity of the two months. By September, the bite becomes increasingly dependent on water conditions, bait, and weather, but experienced crews know that a late-season blue marlin can appear at any moment. This is not the time for casual trolling. It takes tournament-grade tackle, a professional crew, the right spread, and the willingness to cover water. The reward may be an explosive strike, a screaming reel, and hundreds of pounds of blue marlin launching into the air behind the boat. Chase N Dreams Yacht Charters offers a true yacht-quality Bimini sportfishing experience aboard our 61-foot Luxury VIP Viking Sportfish. Our Captain, Mate, and Stewardess provide white-glove service for family trips, corporate outings, and serious anglers alike. From a novice to a tournament winner, we fish for YOU and with YOU! August and September are your final opportunity to target Bimini blue marlin before the focus begins shifting toward the fall and winter fisheries. One bite can change the entire tripโ€”and there is still time to make it happen. Bimini Fishing Report โ€“ July 14, 2026
Jul 3, 2026 Alice Town
Bimini continues to offer some of the most consistent blue-water fishing anywhere in the Bahamas. Clean Gulf Stream water and excellent bait concentrations have kept the offshore bite active. Wahoo: Early morning trolling continues to produce quality fish along the deeper drop-offs outside Bimini. High-speed lures and wire presentations have been effective. Sailfish: Sailfish are showing throughout the offshore grounds, especially around bait schools. Live bait presentations continue to outperform artificial offerings when conditions allow. Mahi: Weed lines, floating pallets, trees, and other offshore debris are holding good numbers of mahi. School fish are plentiful, with larger bulls mixed in around the better floating structure. Blackfin Tuna: Tuna action remains steady during the early morning hours and around active bait schools. Live bait and vertical jigging continue to produce. Blue & White Marlin: Bimini remains one of the premier destinations for anglers looking for marlin. Boats putting in the time along the Gulf Stream edge continue to raise fish, with the best opportunities coming during periods of clean blue water and strong current. The combination of blue water, abundant bait, and multiple pelagic species makes Bimini one of the most productive offshore fisheries in the region. Whether you're targeting a single species or looking for a true offshore mixed bag, conditions continue to favor anglers willing to stay on the move. Tight Lines & God Bless! The Lure of The Bahamas
The Lure of The Bahamas

Set Sail for Unforgettable Angling Adventures Every seasoned angler knows that success on the water starts long before the first castโ€”it begins with the right guidance and access to proven hotspots teeming with trophy fish. Off the southeastern coast of Florida, where the Atlantic meets rich offshore currents, lies one of the most productive fishing playgrounds in the region. This stretch of bluewater is renowned for its healthy populations of marlin, sailfish, mahi-mahi, and tuna, drawing sportfishers from around the globe. Navigating these dynamic waters requires more than just a sturdy vesselโ€”it demands local expertise, real-time knowledge of fish behavior, and an understanding of seasonal patterns. A well-planned trip leverages moon phases, water temperature shifts, and baitfish movements to pinpoint where game fish are likely to feed. For those seeking to maximize their time on the water, expert-led excursions provide strategic advantages that turn guesswork into results. In the sections ahead, youโ€™ll discover top-performing fishing zones accessible from South Florida, learn what makes each location unique, and get practical insights on how to approach them for optimal success. From nearshore wrecks to deep-sea trenches, this guide breaks down the where, when, and how of elite saltwater fishingโ€”so you can plan your next expedition with confidence. Why Bimini Island Reigns Supreme for Deep-Sea Fishing Enthusiasts Nestled just 50 miles east of Miami, Bimini Island stands as a premier destination for anglers chasing world-class deep-sea fishing actionโ€”and for good reason. Positioned at the edge of the powerful Gulf Stream, this Bahamian hotspot delivers nutrient-rich waters that attract a diverse array of pelagic species year-round. The convergence of warm currents and sudden oceanic drop-offs creates ideal habitat for trophy-sized game fish, making it a go-to location for serious sportfishing. Target species like blue marlin, sailfish, wahoo, and yellowfin tuna are commonly found in these waters, especially during peak seasons from spring through fall. Anglers benefit from shorter offshore runs thanks to the islandโ€™s proximity to deep water, allowing more time on productive grounds. Calm backcountry flats also provide opportunities for novice and seasoned fishermen alike to pursue bonefish and permit in shallow turquoise waters. To maximize success, plan trips around tidal shifts and water temperature changesโ€”key indicators of feeding activity. Bring heavy tackle for bluewater battles, and consider hiring a local guide familiar with seasonal migration patterns. Whether you're launching from South Florida or basing your trip on the island, Bimini offers unparalleled access to some of the Atlanticโ€™s most prolific fishing grounds. Discover South Floridaโ€™s Premier Fishing Grounds South Florida boasts some of the most productive saltwater fishing waters in the Atlantic, making it a prime destination for anglers chasing trophy tarpon and billfish like sailfish. The regionโ€™s intricate network of inshore flats, deep-sea drop-offs, and thriving reef lines creates ideal conditions for year-round sportfishing. From the bustling channels of Fort Lauderdale to the open waters off Miami, understanding the seasonal patterns of key species is essential for a successful outing. Tarpon peak in the summer months, often rolling near the surface in coastal estuaries and around bridge structures, particularly in the early morning or late evening. Anglers targeting these silver kings should focus on moving tides and use live bait such as crabs or mullet for best results. Meanwhile, sailfish season runs strongest from November through April, with the offshore waters near the Gulf Stream delivering fast-paced action on trolling spreads rigged with ballyhoo. To maximize your chances: Time trips around seasonal migration patterns Fish during tidal shifts for increased bite activity Utilize light tackle for greater sport when battling large game fish Stay flexible with location based on recent catch reports Whether you're exploring the Intracoastal or venturing into bluewater territory, South Florida offers diverse angling opportunities for all skill levels. Always Ask the Right Questions about extended Bimini Charters. Always speak to the Captain Directly. Always ask about, what's hot, What's not!

Fishing Ft Lauderdale & Fishing the Baha
Fishing Ft Lauderdale & Fishing the Baha
Feb 2, 2026 Dania Beach
This time of year is one of the most exciting windows for offshore fishing out of Fort Lauderdale, with warm currents, bait concentrations, and migrating pelagics stacking the odds in anglersโ€™ favor. But while South Florida delivers excellent action, experienced anglers know that stepping just a bit farther offshoreโ€”to Bimini, the Bahama Bank, Cat Cay, and Tuna Alleyโ€”can turn a great fishing trip into a truly elite one. Letโ€™s break down whatโ€™s biting, how we fish it, and why the Bahamas consistently outproduces local waters. Whatโ€™s Biting Offshore of Fort Lauderdale Right Now Fort Lauderdaleโ€™s proximity to the Gulf Stream puts deep blue water just minutes from the dock. This creates ideal conditions for fast-moving pelagic species, especially during peak seasonal transitions. In-season species include: Sailfish โ€“ Active along current edges and temperature breaks Wahoo โ€“ Fast, aggressive, and explosive strikes Mahi (Dolphin) โ€“ Found on weed lines, debris, and rips Kingfish โ€“ Common on edges, bait schools, and reef lines Fort Lauderdale offers excellent fishing โ€” but the Bahamas is a different league altogether, which is why anglers consistently turn to Bimini Fishing Charters when they want more bites, bigger fish, and less pressure. ? Cleaner Water & Less Pressure Bahamas waters see significantly less boat traffic. Fish are more aggressive, less educated, and more willing to strike. ? The Bahama Bank Advantage The Bahama Bank creates massive nutrient upwellings where shallow flats meet deep blue waterโ€”ideal conditions for predators. ? Tuna Alley A legendary migration corridor producing Wahoo, Tuna, Mahi, Sailfish, and Marlin year after year. ? Cat Cay & Bimini Perfectly positioned along migration routes, these areas allow Bimini Charters to reach prime fishing grounds within minutes of setting lines. What You Can Expect Fishing the Bahamas Right Now Current Bahamas targets include: Wahoo โ€“ Often larger and more aggressive than Florida fish Mahi โ€“ Strong numbers along weed lines and debris Sailfish โ€“ Consistent action along current edges Tuna โ€“ Especially prevalent in Tuna Alley Blue Marlin (seasonal) โ€“ Legitimate trophy opportunities Multiple Wahoo hookups in a single day are far more common here than in South Floridaโ€”one of the main reasons anglers book repeat Bimini Fishing Charters. Local Fishing vs The Bahamas: The Real Difference Local Bahamas Fort Lauderdale Offshore Bahamas Offshore Excellent local action Multi-species, trophy potential Heavy boat traffic Clean, lightly pressured waters Seasonal peaks Consistent productivity Short runs Immediate access to prime grounds Final Thoughts Fishing Fort Lauderdale this time of year is outstandingโ€”fast-paced, exciting, and accessible. But when anglers want more bites, bigger fish, and a truly elevated offshore experience, the Bahamas stands alone. Whether youโ€™re chasing your first Sailfish, targeting a trophy Wahoo, or fishing legendary waters through Bimini Charters, the difference is undeniable. Great fishing starts in Fort Lauderdale. Elite fishing lives with Bimini Fishing Charters.

Bahamas Fishing, Higher Fees, Fewer Boats The Best Fishing Weโ€™ve Seen in Years, Bimini Fishing Charters Over the past year, traveling to the Bahamas by boat has changed dramatically. New Bahamian Customs, Immigration, and fishing license fees have increased the overall cost of entry for private vessels and charter boats alike. In many cases, these increases have resulted in 250โ€“350% higher total entry costs, causing a noticeable decline in the number of boaters crossing over to the islands โ€” especially to Bimini. While higher costs have slowed overall traffic, theyโ€™ve also created an unexpected silver lining for serious anglers and luxury charter guests: Bimini fishing is as wide open as itโ€™s been in years. The Reality: Rising Costs Are Keeping Boats Home. Recent changes to Bahamian entry requirements now include higher fees for: Customs & Immigration processing Fishing permits Vessel cruising permits For many private boat owners, especially those making shorter trips or weekend crossings, these added expenses have made Bahamas runs far less frequent. As a result, overall boat traffic to Bimini has dropped significantly compared to previous seasons. Fewer boats, fewer lines in the water, and less pressure on the fishery โ€” which leads us to the real story. The Upside: Bimini Fishing Less Pressure = Incredible Fishing With dramatically fewer boats fishing the waters around Bimini, the results have been undeniable: Wahoo are less pressured and feeding aggressively Pelagics are holding longer on productive edges Reefs and wrecks are seeing far less daily traffic Cleaner water, calmer conditions, and more consistent bites Simply put, this is the kind of fishing anglers dream about โ€” the way Bimini used to be before heavy traffic became the norm. For our guests aboard our Luxury VIP 61โ€™ Viking Sportfish, this means more action, higher-quality opportunities, and a far more exclusive experience on the water. Why a Luxury VIP Charter Makes More Sense Than Ever? While costs have increased across the board, charter guests benefit from simplicity and transparency. When you fish aboard a professionally run luxury charter: Customs & immigration logistics are handled for you Proper fishing permits are already in place Fuel, tackle, and tournament-grade electronics are included You enjoy white-glove service, comfort, and safety Instead of navigating rising fees and paperwork yourself, you simply step aboard and fish โ€” while taking advantage of some of the best conditions Bimini has seen in years. A Rare Window of Opportunity Fishing cycles through peaks and valleys, and right now Bimini is in a golden window. With fewer boats making the crossing, the fishery is rebounding fast, offering: Less competition More consistent strikes A true big-game Bahamas experience For anglers who value quality over crowds โ€” and for families, corporate groups, or serious fishermen seeking a luxury, stress-free Bahamas adventure โ€” this is the moment to go. Final Word Yes, the cost of entering the Bahamas has increased โ€” and many boaters have stayed home. But for those who do make the trip aboard a professionally operated luxury charter, the reward is exceptional fishing, fewer boats, and a level of exclusivity thatโ€™s becoming increasingly rare. Bimini is wide open โ€” and now is the time to experience it the right way.
