Captain Chase, born and raised in New York, learned to fish in the legendary big Tuna grounds of Montauk, Long Island. After catching his first Yellowfin Tuna, he was hooked. Catching Yellowfin and Bluefin became an obsession, with one Bluefin, weighing in at 973 pounds. Being raised in Sheepshead Bay, New York, and working as a mate, Capt. Chase enjoyed learning his trade from some of the best charter boat captains in the business. Captain Chase has since been Tournament Director at Bimini Big Game Club, Bimini Sands & Hemingway Marina Havana Cuba.

Kevin was our mate and worked extremely hard rigging lines, gaffing our catch and making sure we all had great photos for the trip! Jean also did an amazing job catering to us with food and drinks! It was evident our crew was dedicated to customer service. They truly gave me the impression they love being on the water and it never seemed like it was “work” to them. Chase communicated very well with me from the time we booked and even later that afternoon when our trip was concluded by reaching out to ensure we had a good time. The boat was immaculate, had a clean bathroom and the AC in the cabin worked like a champ. We caught a variety of fish including some black fin tuna which turned into sashimi at the dock that Jean and Kevin prepared. All in all a great trip!

Captain Chase was incredibly friendly from the start and clearly knew exactly where to take us, everyone in the group got to reel something in which made the experience even better. We ended up catching a bunch of mahi mahi and even landed a sailfish. Captain Chase and crew kept the energy up the whole time and made sure everyone was involved and having a great time. If you’re looking for a fun, well-run fishing trip with a knowledgeable captain who genuinely cares about your experience, this is it. Highly recommend, we’ll definitely be back

The late-August offshore bite from Fort Lauderdale through Miami continues to be a mixed bag, with mahi, wahoo and blackfin tuna providing the better opportunities. Recent reports through August 21 confirm active wahoo offshore and blue marlin farther south off Key Largo.
Wahoo: Still very much in play. Recent catches have included quality wahoo, with trolling producing the better opportunities.
Sailfish: Scattered summertime sails continue to show. We're well outside the peak winter season, but there are enough fish around to make a sailfish encounter very possible.
Mahi: Mahi remain available offshore, particularly around productive weed patches, debris and floating structure. The fish have been somewhat scattered, so finding the right piece of structure holding bait remains important.
Tuna: Blackfin tuna are still in the mix, although recent reports indicate the bite has slowed from earlier in the summer. Early mornings remain the better opportunity.
Marlin: Blue marlin remain the wildcard. A blue marlin was reported off Key Largo on August 21, confirming that fish are still moving through South Florida waters.

Bimini continues to offer some of the most consistent blue-water fishing anywhere in the Bahamas. Clean Gulf Stream water and excellent bait concentrations have kept the offshore bite active.
Wahoo: Early morning trolling continues to produce quality fish along the deeper drop-offs outside Bimini. High-speed lures and wire presentations have been effective.
Sailfish: Sailfish are showing throughout the offshore grounds, especially around bait schools. Live bait presentations continue to outperform artificial offerings when conditions allow.
Mahi: Weed lines, floating pallets, trees, and other offshore debris are holding good numbers of mahi. School fish are plentiful, with larger bulls mixed in around the better floating structure.
Blackfin Tuna: Tuna action remains steady during the early morning hours and around active bait schools. Live bait and vertical jigging continue to produce.
Blue & White Marlin: Bimini remains one of the premier destinations for anglers looking for marlin. Boats putting in the time along the Gulf Stream edge continue to raise fish, with the best opportunities coming during periods of clean blue water and strong current.
