    Outstanding Jigging Trip with Captain Akihiro

    Captain Akihiro was outstanding. He worked hard all day to keep us on fish, and his experience really showed. We caught fish, had a great time, and learned a lot along the way. What stood out most was how calm, patient, and positive he was throughout the trip. He was always actively searching for fish and adjusting tactics to give us the best chance for success, while also taking the time to teach and explain what we were doing. If you’re looking for a captain who is both a skilled fisherman and a great teacher, Captain Akihiro is the real deal. Highly recommended for anglers of any experience level.

    Booked this trip as a late wedding gift for my brother and had a great time. Captain Aki took the time to show the three of us the zones and teach us his jigging technique, and even worked to accommodate us so we could use our own gear. Though the fish weren't biting, it was obvious that Captain Aki was knowledgeable and passionate about what he was doing, and it kept us stoked just to be on the water with him. My brother still managed one kahala and one kamanu and a couple of fumbled strikes, totally outfishing me and our buddy. We will definitely look to book with him again.

    I highly recommend Akihiro hands down very precise fisherman and very knowledgeable on gear and the area. very friendly and out going and works hard to get you hooked up. Ive been on multiple charters throughout my years coming to Oahu and he definitely stands out of the bunch. he had everything (gear,bathroom,and water ect) we needed just bring snacks, strength and sun screen. also want to add he is great with kids letting him hang out with him on the captain console an teaching him the techniques. Next year I will be definitely utilizing jigging Honolulu again!

    Akihiro was great with my son and I. has a lot of patience and wabts to teach. he had us catching fish using his mettods right away. nice boat and equipment. the boat is perfect for two passengers and the captain. lots of room for us all. catch and release is kinda perfect for vacationers we kept 3 only because my sister is local and we were able to process the fish our selves..

    Excellent jigging trip.

    Captain Akihiro does a great job and works hard to put you on the fish. We caught a good amount of Amberjack and Almaco jack on our trip. You need to work a little hard to jig these fish and much of the jigging is done in deep water using heavy jigs. if you are ready and listen to Captain Akihiro's advise on jigging technique you should be successful.

    Captain Aki mentioned that a yellowfin can be caught by jigging in deep waters. I was extremely surprised and ecstatic that he directed the fishing to 270M depth and a yellowfin was caught and brought on board with a 300g jig. Be prepared for multiple species at different depths.

    I am an experienced fisherman and have been out on a bunch of deep sea trolling charters. I was looking for something different and more hands on. If you are looking for a jigging charter this is your best option. Went out by myself with the captain. He did a great job explaining how to jig. (completely different than jigging I am used to) I’ll admit, it was MUCH harder than he makes it look. He did a great job explaining everything. We got 3 good sized amberjack over the rail. All in all, I learned a new technique and had a great day on the water. I would definitely book again.

    My buddy and I fish all over the US, from Florida keys to California and all the way to Hawaii. I wouldn’t say we are experts, but we have high standards. Captain Akihiro is very hardcore and technical, he would want to teach you and get things done properly like a pro. Trip is 100% jogging oriented, no trolling, or baits, just with metal jigs. We caught 4 fish(2x AJ, 1X GT, 1X Ehu) under 6 hours and headed back early as we were super gased. Would def come back again, it’s one of a kind. One small note it, captain does charge an additional fee for Rod/reel/jig usage, might want to keep that in mind. Might be better to notify fisherman ahead of time as I’m sure some ppl would complain about it. -DST

Even in winter, the temperature in Oahu doesn't dip below 70°F. If you haven't made it offshore yet, this is the time! All the pelagic superstars are out there, including Tuna, Spearfish, Marlin, and Mahi Mahi.
