Hunter was awesome! Booked this charter for my wife and I to have a cool experience together. Hunter was the perfect fit for us. He is laid back, but in a totally confident “we will catch some fish sort of way.”  He was super patient, teaching us various techniques for the species we were fishing for (red drum, trout, and flounder).  We hit on 2 of the 3 species and caught enough that I lost count. From booking until the end of our trip Hunter made everything easy and fun for both of us.  High quality trip, on a high quality boat, with a fantastic captain what else can you ask for?

This was a really fun day of fishing!

From the historic district of downtown Savannah, Captain Hunter’s boat was a quick 15 minutes away. There is little to no signage to the marina, but trust the address in Google or Waze. Captain Hunter was all ready for us and got us loaded on the boat quickly.

The sand gnats/no-see-ums were pretty bad, but typical for early morning in this area. The captain had texted several days before to remind us to wear long sleeve shirts, pants, even something to cover our faces. But he quickly got us moving out of the no-wake zone and the speed kept them off us most of the time.

Capt. Hunter put us on some huge reds right away but our casting skills were a bit rusty, and we missed the opportunity for some hits but that was our fault.

We moved out and spent the six hour trip catching an assortment of fish from reds and sea trout to black drum, flounder and others. Capt. Hunter was a good teacher and very patient, and the ladies did really well with his instruction. I have to learn to keep my mouth shut and let the pro do his thing. Haha

We threw artificals at the beginning but moved to corks and shrimp to make things a little easier. He was great at gauging each location and moving on if it wasn’t productive. It kept everyone interested and not frustrated when the bite wasn’t super hot. But sometimes guides move too quickly and you feel like you’re boating more than fishing…but Capt. Hunter has the right balance.

The boat was super clean, gear was in perfect condition, and he was fully stocked with shrimp and mullet so we didn’t waste time trying to net the bait ourselves. Captain Hunter was an absolute gentleman with a good sense of humor and easy going attitude. Plus he’s one of our many American veterans, so that was an added honor.

If you want a guide who’s great for experienced AND inexperienced people, Captain Hunter is your man! Thanks for the fun trip!

Hunter made 2 Northern boys feel like family right away! Getting to know us playing great music on the way out to fishing grounds.  We were introduced to sight fishing for red fish explaining what to look for, showing me how to cast better, then I finally got on my fish great fight and calming me down helping me get it in the boat. Then my boy on his last hail Mary cast hooked up that made the trip

Father in-law was able to catch his dream fish today and thats all that mattered to me for this trip. Captain Hunter is great and I will be returning again for sure. Thank you for a great trip and good music!

Had a chance to fish with Hunter while on a trip to Savannah.  Cannot stress enough how hard he worked to give me a memorable trip.  Very accommodating and willing to go above and beyond.  His boat and gear were all high end and well kept.  We targeted several different species and areas to round out the day.
