I have been fishing the middle Chesapeake Bay my entire life. I started out as a first mate on several charter boats while gaining my U.S. Coast Guard 50-ton Captain's License. When the opportunity to buy a charter boat with one of my best friends, U.S. Coast Guard Certified Captain Matt Maceron, came up – we set the hook! Let's go fishing.

    We had a fantastic time with Captain Matt and Taylor! These guys know where to find the rockfish and we limited out. Definitely will book with them again.

    What a great day on the bay!

    Full Day Trip – Weekend • 3 adults

    We had a superb day fishing with Captains Matt and Rob on the Chesapeake. We’d been told it’s hard to find and catch Rockfish so we paid for an 8 hour trip to increase our chances. But both seaman knew the bay very well and worked hard to help us catch our limit by noon. Not only was the fishing great but we left feeling like we’d made two new fishing friends for many years to come. Thank you both for giving us a great day on the water!

    Capt. Matt and Capt. Robert worked incredibly hard to get us on rock fish. We had a great day on the water from weather to waves. Capt. Matt was incredibly skillful with the boat and Capt. Robert was masterful with the cleaning our fish while the boat was on the move. If I could give 6 stars I would. The only bad thing of the day was that it had to end. Thanks Captains!!!!!!!

    We came from Indiana to visit family and planned this trip. The captains suggested we head out to Baltimore to go where the fish were and they did not disappoint! My boys couldn’t keep up they had so much fun reeling in some big rockfish and getting to take home their catch and eat them for dinner. They’re already planning our next trip!

2026 Season dates still up in the air

The 2026 season dates are still undecided as several pieces of legislation move through the state house. A propsoal to protect breeding females from catch and release in April and May has been acted on by the representatives delaying the catch and release season until mid-May. Most likely the season will open for rockfishing May 16th and run until July 31st. The season will be closed in August to protect rockfishing from catch and release mortality during the period of warmest water temps in season. September until December will be the late summer/fall season. When the season is open, the minimum size for striped bass is 19 inches and the maximum size for striped bass is 24 inches. One fish per person is the creel limit.

The 2025 Chesapeake Bay Striped Bass season dates and restrictions have been announced. May 16, 2025, through July 15, 2025, and August 1, 2025, through December 10, 2025. Minimum size for striped bass is 19 inches and the maximum size for striped bass is 24 inches. One fish per Angler... including Anglers on charter boats. 2024 Season Dates and Creel Limits Annou

******New Regulations pertaining to Striped Bass for 2024****** The 2024 Maryland striped bass (Rockfish) season kicks off on May 16th this year. During summer season the Rockfish size and limit will be 19" to 24" and each person can keep (1) one rockfish. Rockfish Season is closed July 16, 2024 - July 31, 2024. Fall 2023 fishing has heated up

We are trolling looking for bird shows to catch the fat fall schooling stripers. Good very early morning bites and great evening bites have been the pattern this November. Weekdays have been the most productive avoiding the crowds of boats on weekends, but really all days have produced some decent to great fishing when they decide to eat.

2023 Striped Bass season has been announced. May 1st through May 15th "trophy season" 35 inches and over. May 16th to July 15th. 19 inches and over. July 16th to July 31st - No targeting of Striped Bass. August 1st to December 10th. 19 inches up to 31 inches. Get your date on the books!

2022 season ends

Well, the season finally came to an end. We had a great fall run from mid October through December. The rockfishing was great and the weather cooperated most days. Fall is truly the best time to target fat stripers. The season should open back up again May 1st 2023. I will post a report once we get dates confirmed by the State. Merry Christmas.
