We were looking for a captain that would be a good fit for taking our whole family fishing, with a 10 and 13 year old.  Captain Jake had good family reviews and he didnt disappoint.  It was really rough waters, but Jake knew where we could go to keep the boat as stable as possible and we caught a ton of fish.  Jake worked his butt off just keeping each rod baited and collecting our catch.  I didnt get to count them all, but I’m sure we ended up with 30-35 keepers, which Jake fileted for us.  Jake has clearly been doing this his whole life and capable of taking out a group like ours just excited to catch fish, or anglers looking for specific fish.  He was great with all of us, including the kids.  Highly recommend!

We had the most amazing day out on the water on our family fishing trip—three generations onboard, including grandparent, parents, and our two little adventurers (ages 9 and 7). From the moment we hopped on the boat, the vibe was relaxed, friendly, and fun. Jake was an absolute legend—super knowledgeable, great with the kids, and clearly loves what he does.
The highlight of the day? We caught a hammerhead shark! The kids were over the moon, and honestly, so were the adults. Jake handled the catch expertly, ensuring it was done safely and respectfully, while giving us all a thrilling story to tell. The boat was comfy, clean, and had everything we needed including cold drinks and refreshments. There was plenty of shade for us to chill, and space for the kids to move around without getting in trouble. Jake kept things light and fun, cracking jokes and sharing cool stories about the sea and the local wildlife and was incredibly patient with the kids as they learned to cast and reel.
If you’re looking for a fun, family-friendly fishing experience, this charter is a winner. 10/10 would recommend.  We’ll definitely be back!

We went to the dock and jointly agreed the weather was to rough to go out. Captain Mike was willing and fully ready to launch, but very honest about the conditions. He fully refunded us without hesitation. The boat looked great, the captain was extremely nice & more concerned about us then about taking our money. It killed us not to go out with him that day. I will absolutely book Captain Mike next time I am in the Keys.

My family and I went out for the 8 hour day trip.  Captain Jake put us on fish all day and was great with my 6 and 9 year olds.  He is very knowledgeable and had a great attitude the entire trip.  We loved the trip and would recommend it to anyone.  We will definitely use this charter again next time we are in Marathon. We caught over 50 fish throughout the day and ended up with 3 large plastic bags of fillets at the end of the day.  It was my 9 year old’s birthday and he is already planning for his birthday next year with Captain Jake!

We had a great afternoon/evening with Captain Jake.  The boat was great and the perfect layout for the 5 of us (two adults, two teens, and an 8 year old).  Captain Jake was friendly, knowledgeable, and worked hard to get us on the fish!  We caught a large nurse shark, a barracuda, and lots of other smaller fish that were just as fun to catch.  On top of the great fishing, he provided fresh oranges and pineapple that were a big hit! Everyone had a great time and we are already talking about coming back next year.
