The temperatures may be seriously low, but head to Manistee in January, and you could be casting a line for Steelhead. Book a local guide and get ready to explore the area's river systems.

You can join a local, experienced angler and get your hands on Steelhead during February. Get your tackle ready, find a suitable guide, and plan your fishing trip!

Trollers and pier anglers have the chance to hook some numbers of Brown Trout this time of year. Manistee River has good Steelhead fishing, and Lake Michigan is usually starting to open up.&nbsp;

Head to Manistee's north pier for Perch in the early hours of the morning. Steelhead and Brown Trout can also be caught along the lake, especially when trolling the shoreline. The Manistee River is also plentiful!

Bait fish are hanging out in the harbor right now, and so are Salmon. Chinook can be found in 140 to 220 feet of water. Large numbers of Lake Trout are also around. The fishing is really heating up!

Fish from a boat, a pier, or from the shore in June, and you'll be rewarded. You'll find anything from gigantic Chinook Salmon, to Coho, to Lake Trout biting. Catch them all if you can!

Trolling with spoons and flies from a boat during this time of year is especially productive. Get your hands on Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, and Steelhead. Lake Trout can also be caught in 180 to 300 feet of water.&nbsp;

In August, fish with flies, meat rigs, and plugs for Chinook Salmon and Coho Salmon. Head to Lake Michigan's bustling fishery, or explore the bite in the Manistee River. Salmon will be moving upstream soon.&nbsp;

If you head north of the port, you can explore the waters up to 150-foot deep for Chinook Salmon and Coho Salmon. The Manistee River and Lake Michigan are also bustling with plenty of fishing action.&nbsp;

The rivers hold good numbers of Steelhead and the occasional Brown Trout in October, especially the Manistee River. Head to Lake Michigan before the season closes to target a variety of fish.&nbsp;

The Manistee River holds good numbers of acrobatic Steelhead in November, which you can target if the weather allows. Pier fishing is also strong until the waters start to ice over!

The Manistee River is the place to be right now if you feel like fishing for Trout. The locals use jigs tipped with worms. Want to try ice fishing around the harbors? Make sure you step out with a local guide!
