Beat the Heat Sunset Fishing Intro • 2 adultsOur experience with Todd/Talking Dog Fishing was so good. Easy to book, and a great price for 2 people. His boat was pristine as was his fishing gear and equipment. The motor was a huge Merc and I felt safe right away. There was an ice chest, with cold water which was nice. It was my first trip saltwater fishing and we had a blast. The sharks weren't biting, so Todd took us to another spot and we got busy quickly! I caught a 30-40lb tarpon, and my friend caught one right after I did. They were fun and challenging for me to get him tired enough to get in the boat. I can't recommend this man Todd enough. He's energetic and passionate about what he does. Thank you for all the videos, your help, and coaching me getting my fish all the way in. Hope we can come back soon!

AM Shark - 8 AM -3 Hr Shark Fishing • 4 adults • 2 childrenSharks were the goal, and sharks were what we found! Captain Todd did a great job of getting us on consistent action. The meetup location was easy to find, the boat was excellent, and the gear was perfect for what we were targeting. We landed 3 different species of sharks and both of the kids in our party can now say they reeled in something bigger than themselves! What really stood out to me beyond the excitement and adrenaline of reeling in big sharks was how Captain Todd kept the kids engaged the whole time. Our trip had a short period of slack tide where the sharks weren’t cooperating… instead of sitting around waiting he rigged up some light tackle rods and the kids really enjoyed keeping the rods bent by catching some extra live bait as well as some snapper and mackeral. If you’re looking for a fun family trip in Key west, with a chance to catch some really remarkable sharks, Captain Todd is definitely your guy!

Todd was great, super friendly professional, and made sure we had a great time out on the water. The beautiful gulf view and sunset made the whole experience even better. We will definitely be using Todd again on our next trip! Highly recommend!!!

PM 4 Hour Tarpon Trip Key West • 2 adultsCaptain Todd asked if we could move the schedule later so we could have a chance to catch tarpon at sunset, which was great for us. Then he extended the time to give us an even better shot. We caught 2 large sharks and several other small fish, including a very nice Mangrove snapper to take with us, but only one tarpon, deigned to take our live bait and hopped off the line quickly. i hope to come back and fish with Todd again so I get my tarpon.

AM Shark - 8 AM -3 Hr Shark Fishing • 2 adultsCapt Todd put us in the right spot not once but twice. I caught two sharks in our first spot. We moved to a second spot at my request to catch some snapper and we did! Capt said his group the day before caught a lemon shark in this location so we threw out a couple of lines. As my wife was pulling in the snapper, I was busy with sharks taking our bait and running. We had three big bites, one biting through our steel leader and the other two snapping the 250 pound test line. They were exciting fights but that’s how the fish floats in the sport of shark fishing. The two sharks I did catch and land were amazing creatures to hold for a minute and then release and watch them slowly swim away into the deep blue. Being from the midwest, this was the experience of a lifetime—all brought to me by Capt Todd of Talking Dog Fishing of Key West.

Lemon Sharks, and a Big Bull Shark

The sharks have been biting well on the back side of the island. Lemon sharks have been some great fights, and fun, and we hooked and released a large bull shark after a nearly three hour battle.

Sharks, Snapper, Grouper, and Tarpon

The summer heat is here, but the fishing is hot as well. The sharks have been biting - we’ve caught multiple species including lemon sharks, nurse sharks, bull sharks, hammerheads, bonnetheads, black tips, and more. The shark fishing is a great way to bend a rod and teach new anglers heavy tackle techniques. The goliath grouper have been biting along with a good night time mangrove snapper bites. There are still plenty of tarpon in the area - the best to target are the 30-40 lb class fish at night near bridges. Early morning and late evening are the best times to try to target the bigger ones that can go over 100-150lbs.
July will bring more good fishing with lots of sharks in the are, and snapper and tarpon evening trips being the best opportunities to target other species.

Goliath Grouper - Full Grown

Big congrats to Bryson who landed this massive Goliath Grouper. We managed to coax him out of the big hole he was stuck in, and pulled him up to fully appreciate the size of this massive beautiful beast.
What a great battle, and a healthy release for this big bruiser of a fish.
Great day on the water - come out, and take on a Goliath here in Key West.

Sharks, Snapper, Grouper, and Tarpon - M

May is a great month to fish. The first week has been amazing. Key West offers a mixed bag this time of year, and I've been fishing almost daily. The big tarpon have been rolling, and eating live baits. We've caught half a dozen with the largest going around 150. The angler had been on twelve tarpon trips, and got his first big one.
The tarpon bite has been good, and the sharks have been chewing as well. We've landed big lemon sharks, bull sharks, and black tip sharks among other species. Some smaller bonnet head sharks, and sharpnose sharks have been fun light tackle action as well.
The weather is great, and the days are long, but it's worth it to land a big one.
In addition to tarpon and sharks, the mangrove snapper bite at night has been very good. Targeting snapper at night allows for some time to catch juvenile tarpon and is a nice cooler experience as the temperatures rise.
Goliath grouper have been big in the back country basin of the gulf. Anglers have landed 50-100lb fish, and I’m still on the quest for a couple of the bigger 300-400+ lb fish with some new heavy tackle purchased specifically for this purpose. Bay Boat Upgrade - Sharks, Grouper, Snap

It’s a beautiful day to be alive - the sun is shining, and the fish are biting. The maverick mirage got upgraded to a 2200 Tournament edition Pathfinder. We can now accommodate up to 4 anglers for shark, grouper, snapper, and other fishing trips.
The new year started great with Ryan, and Shelly catching 4/6 sharks, and some VERY big goliath grouper bites.
Sam called me for a last minute trip, and we got out and caught a small goliath grouper, some sharks, and some snapper.
On another recent trip Nick caught a nice lemon shark, and some grunts and snappers.
The fishing in key west is great because we don’t need a full day and eight hours to get into some action 4 -5 hour trips seem to be great on the new bay boat allowing plenting of time for catching and not taking the entire day away from time in Key West.

Mangrove Snappers, Goliath Grouper, and

The fish are chewing, and the weather is nice in Key West. The channels have been producing nice mangrove snapper, and the sharks and goliath grouper are chewing as well.
The days have been calm and lightly breezy. The fishing is great with three days of snapper limits in a row!
