- I grew up in the Vancouver area and became an avid saltwater angler as a kid in the 70's. As I grew into my teens this love of fishing continued to grow, and I began pursuing Salmon on a regular basis from slightly larger boats whenever I had a day or weekend free. While going through University (Faculty of Forestry, Resource Management - Fisheries and Hydrology) I took a summer job as a fishing guide in West Vancouver and have been guiding anglers ever since. In 1990 I purchased my first boat, started "Predator Charters", and began running charters on a year-round basis for the first time. The main reason I am still guiding is that even after all these years I still would rather be out fishing on a charter than have a day off work. I still enjoy guiding as much as I did when I started more than three decades ago. Meeting new clients and especially reacquainting with repeat clients from previous years is what makes the job particularly enjoyable. In June 2025 I moved my charter operation to Gabriola Island, and now operate year round out of Silva Bay
