Captain Chad did a great job getting us on the fish. He was also friendly and gave history lessons about Matagorda. We didn’t get many keepers but had tons landed that were just a little short. Still a good day. The 9 hour trip with checking crab traps was nice, but by the end we all agree (including Chad) that it’s too long of a day on flat bottom boat. Had an amazing time on our guided fishing trip! The guide was patient, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience enjoyable for everyone. He helped my 9 year old with everything he needed along the way. Highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for a fund and relaxing day on the water!

My son and I took a charter with Captain Kraft on 26 Sep 2025. We had a great time and caught more fish than we ever have on any previous charter. Highly recommend. He went out of his way to ensure we caught our limits and had a great experience.

Capt. Chad was great! He immediately got us on fish and we were able to quickly catch a wide variety of species. He was very patient with our son and helped him to “catch the most fish ever!” It was a very exciting day for our son. Capt. Chad passed on some local history which was very interesting for us. We highly recommend and will be calling him for our next trip to Matagorda.

Capt Chad was fantastic. We had a great time on the water. I think we caugh every species of fish in the bay. We caught our limit of Specs and he made sure we had pics to carry the memories home. The few times the bite was slow he shared his knowledge of the area and the fisheries, before moving us to another hot spot.  We’ll definitely give him a call the next time we’re in town.
