My life of fishing began as a child, fishing tournaments with my father from North Carolina to Connecticut, and ongoing recreationally/commercially out of Cape May and Ocean City. My early introduction to sportfishing jump-started my journey to fishing professionally. My love for this game only grows with every day spent on the water, with my greatest happiness coming from bending the rod and putting fish on the deck. I take great pleasure in sharing these experiences with others and educating others on this beautiful sport. From the bay to the canyons, I pride myself on being a jack of all trades, able to put people on a variety of fish consistently, inshore and offshore. 3 Hour – Back Bay • 4 adults • 2 childrenWe had a great time out on the water with Captain Syd. I booked a morning back bay trip with my dad and my kids (10 and 8). My kids have never fished from a boat, I have some experience and my dad has a lot more. Syd explained to us not just the technique we'd be using to catch flounder, but also why it worked, which my curious kids loved. He was happy to answer the million questions that my kids had about all kinds of topics, some fishing related and some not. I'd highly recommend booking with Mod Squad if you are fishing with kids or people with varied levels of experience. Syd has a ton of knowledge and is happy to share it, so I'm sure that he can provide a great experience for seasoned anglers as well.

We caught more flounder than we could count, and the action was nonstop from the time we got on the fish. Capt. Syd and Dylan were absolutely fantastic, especially with the kids. They were patient, encouraging, and took the time to make sure everyone was involved and having fun. Their knowledge of the local waters and willingness to help made the trip enjoyable for both experienced anglers and first-timers. This was one of the highlights of our Ocean City vacation, and we’ve already decided it’s going to become an annual family tradition. 4 Hour – Back Bay - 8:00 AM • 6 adultsWe booked this trip for my father’s 80th birthday and we all had a great time. Captain Syd and first mate Dylan were amazing. Syd was very knowledge and got us on fish quickly. He loved educating us on the details of fishing, but also loved to have fun and get to know us. He talked to my son about their same favorite music, talked to my brother about boats, shared stories with my father, and talked with me about my job. We also all caught flounder and a couple sand sharks as well as a sea urchin. I want to come back every year with Syd and make it a tradition. Shout out to Dylan who never stopped helping us and always had a smile.

3 Hour – Back Bay - 12:00 PM • 5 adults • 2 childrenGreat communication from Capt. Sid. Clear, timely, rapid and robust. Marina and boat easy to find. Boat was in great shape- well cared for. First mate Dylan was great= friendly and capable, eager to help. Captsain knew the waters and the target. Both were fantastic to the little ones we brought with us- 8 and 6 years old. Caught over 20 flounder on a 3-hour backbay trip kids caught the most!)...sadly none of them keepers. Kudos to Sid for holding the line on the rules. I really appreciate integrity on the water. Will definitely book Mod Squad when I return.

4 Hour – Back Bay - 1:00 PM • 4 adultsCaptain Syd and First Mate Dillon were awesome. Great instructions for the kids in the beginning of the trip and super helpful throughout. Mt Brother and I took two kids each. Caught a decent amount of flounder on the Bay and the kids and adults both had a blast. Dolphins sighting was a big highlight and Captain Syd was kind enough to pivot our drift for a couple minutes to watch them. Highly recommended!

Todd sent his employees tuna fishjng. It was a beautiful day on the ocean with many bites and some nice tuna landed. Tons of mammal life from dolphins to whales and even some HUGE manta rays putting on an acrobatic show!
The tuna fishing should only continue to get better and better. Secure your date before theyre all gone.

The back bay flounder bite is heating up as the water is now reaching prime temps. Charley and his crew caught in the double digits today including a few keepers for the table. Weekdays with less boat traffic have shown the best results. The flounder are fired up right now!

5/4 Is Flounder opening day!

Flounder season is now open and Mod Squad charters will be on the fish now until the season closes in september. In the photo, the angler to the left is holding one of the many behemoth doormats that landed on our deck last season. For comparison, the fish next to it was over 20”. Congrats to Matt and his crew.
