    Captain Ron and a rock in roll fishing experience!

    We showed up and asked the Captain where his eye patch was ( reference Kurt Russel in movie “Captain Ron” movie). He didnt have a eye patch but, like the movie, the trip was a success because of Captain Ron! The boat launched to alternative rock music that matched the mood of the bay. Waves crashed with the beat of the drums. Ron caught bait as dolphins chased mullet and minhaden in the background. Ron was a force of nature that seemed to be a part of the world we inteuded upon. “Violent Femmes” rocked the crew as the boat settled into our first spot. We were not disapointed! Red Fish, Speckaled Trout, Drum, and a few fish we didnt want kept Captain Ron busy with filling thevice chest and replacing bait lost in the battle. Ron has an innate ability to always know when someone needed help or encouragement. Day ended with Tyler Childress, Doobie Brothers, and Luke Combs with plenty of fish! Well done Ron!

    Reservámos o nosso passeio uma semana antes de visitar Gulf Shores, e o Ronnie pareceu ser a escolha perfeita e não nos desiludiu. Levou a minha Mãe (67 anos), a minha esposa e eu (40 e tal anos) e a nossa filha (15 anos) num passeio de quatro horas à tarde em busca de Pargo-vermelho, na quinta-feira passada, e foi fantástico! Em trinta minutos já estávamos a ferrar peixes, e apesar do pai ter ficado enjoado foi uma viagem incrível, simplesmente incrível! O Ronnie parecia um tio ou alguém que já conhecíamos há muito tempo, de certeza que ficarão muito satisfeitos com o vosso passeio. Recomendo vivamente!!

    Levei o meu filho de 10 anos na primeira saída para apanhar peixes maiores.     O Capt. Ron foi um guia excelente! Começámos por apanhar isco vivo de manhã. Depois, fomos a um ponto e apanhámos o nosso limite de Corvina-pintada em pouco tempo. Em seguida, fomos a outro ponto e apanhámos o nosso limite de Pargo-vermelho e alguns exemplares de Cavala-espanhola. Era o aniversário da minha esposa hoje, e ela passou um tempo fantástico! Não se pode realmente pôr um preço nas ótimas fotos e memórias da viagem. Recomendo vivamente o Capt. Ron!

Its the winter time, and in the fishing world, that means its time to catch some sheepshead. The fish are staging, preparing for the srping spawn. These fish pull hard and taste great. They have a really light bite and will test every bit of your fishing skills. The bite will only get better as spring approaches.

Inshore Fishing for Speckled Trout

The speckled trout have made their way into the bay and are here in large numbers. These fish can be caught in very calm water, so it makes for a great trip for those that get sea sick or dont like a long boat ride to the fish. We catch these fish on light tackle in shallow water using live bait. A great trip for beginners or seasoned anglers.

Its a common misconception that the best bite is early morning. Thats simply not true. These redfish bite best on the high tide, and this time of year, that typically occurs in the afternoons. As summer approaches, these tides will begin changing cycles and higher tides can be found mid mornings.

With the water temperatures warming up, the bite will continually get better. Speckled trout, redfish, sheepshead and Spanish Mackerel will begin entering the bays. These fish can be found any time of day and bite best during the moving tides.

Summer Time Weather

With the summer time weather pattern setting in early this year, avoiding storms has proven more difficult than catching the fish. The speckled trout bite has been great, and not having to travel very far to get them. Most of these fish are caught in sight of the marina. The bite is really heating up, and days are booking fast, so get in on this action while they are here and hungry!
