My husband booked this trip for us last minute while we were on our honeymoon! We hadn't planned this in advance so I was a little concerned I wouldn't have the right gear, but thankfully Lamont's boat is very comfortable and smooth! There is an enclosed cabin that made traveling out for the Lingcod relaxing and comfortable. Lamont is very friendly, knowledgeable, and fun to talk to. We had the best time, our freezer is full of fish and we will be back again. Thank you!! - Kate

There are quite a lot of salmon. But if you want big king, you may need to go earlier. Coho is really big but many big fat king is on the way of breeding. Rockfish is huge. We got big black and china rockfish. We also got some jack mackerel. Its a little tricky to clean but it tastes really great

July is peak season for Chinnok salmon. Currently you are allowed to keep two Chinnoks. The fishing grounds are either right outside the harbor or 10 miles west into the ocean.

Took well over an hour to get to the fishing location. Two in our party got very seasick. Probably not good for first timers. Crew was friendly. We caught a lot of fish. Our teenagers had a great time. Hunter was their favorite!

be prepared for a longer run out to Halibut fields and deeper water. Electric reels made it so anyone can fish though.

Maxed out became Captain Lamont knows how to maneuver his beautiful boat right against the underwater mountains and unique tropical like geological waters off La Push! Even caught Greenlee and sapphire Lingcod! He knows his way around those waters and his equipment was top notch

Do some research on logistics. Forks has a great grocery store where you can get all you need including license and ice. There’s no processing locally in La Push so plan for transport of your catch to your freezer.
