Walleye
Trip Summary
Trip Summary
As water temps increase we’re seeing walleye continue to follow their typical migratory patterns of moving into deep and cooler water. For the first 2 weeks of August were fishing East of the Lake Erie Islands near the Canadian Border in 40-45 feet of water. Fish are primarily being taken by trolling TruTrip and Dipsy Divers in front of worm harnesses at a speed of 1.9 to 2.1 mph. We’re seeing tiny shad in the bellies so were using very small Colorado Blades with success. Limit catches are still being taken daily and we do have availability in the nearby.
Prrch fishing is just starting to heat up West of the islands and will continue to improve as we approach late August. Great catches are being taken around the range cans and between Green snd Rattlesnake Islands. We’re seeing a mixed grade of perch coming in the boat with several over 10 inches.
