Paul and Matt were without a doubt the guides we needed when we first got to Puerto Rico. Not only for hunting fish, but we found them super knowledgeable about all things local. We had an absolutely incredible experience with Captain Paul and his mate. From the moment we stepped on the boat, it felt like we were out fishing with old friends - warm, welcoming, and full of great energy the entire trip. Their professionalism and easy-going attitude made the day truly special. The fishing itself was outstanding. We landed both Wahoo and King Mackerel, which made for some serious excitement on the deck. Captain Paul knows these waters inside and out and put us right on the fish. He also took the time to share some fantastic local spots and recommendations for things to do on shore, which we really appreciated. The boat was in pristine condition: clean, well-maintained, and equipped with everything you could ask for. The weather couldn’t have been better, and the whole crew made sure we had everything we needed throughout the day. Top-tier experience from start to finish. Captain Paul and Fisher are experts who clearly love what they do. We caught Mackerel, Blue Runners, Jack, and had a blast doing it. Professional, friendly, and hard-working. Watching the Captain fillet the catch at the end was impressive, he was fast, efficient, and made sure we went home with the best cuts. He set some of it apart and had it cooked at the Marina's onsite restaurant for us, freshest fish tacos ever!! Total hook to table experience. Highly recommend booking with them!
I wanted to suprise my 9 year old with a fishing trip while in PR. I found Fish Slayer Charter. We had a fantastic time. Captain Paul and Fisher were excellent. They answered all of our questions and made the experience unforgettable. My son got to reel in many fish including Cero Mackerel, Blue Runners, and even a small tuna. They told us that the place next door will cook the fish and make tacos. These were also great. We plan on making a tradition visiting Fish Slayer Charters when we visit PR in the future.
Our family had an excellent experience with Paul and his team. They employed a range of bait, lures, and techniques to optimize our chances of success, resulting in each of us catching multiple fish—with several occasions where two rods were engaged simultaneously. The crew demonstrated exceptional knowledge and provided valuable assistance throughout the trip. Our catch included two Mahi, two Wahoo, three Mackerel, numerous Barracuda, and, regrettably, a few sharks. I highly recommend Fish Slayer to those visiting Cabo Rojo and suggest inquiring with Paul about his recommended waterfall hikes.
