Summer Kick off fishing report

Florida Keys Fishing Report The summer sun is heating up, and the fish are biting! We’re seeing a strong flow of Sargassum grass this season, with weed lines filling many of our beaches and channels. Finding clean water and moving current has become a key factor to success. Having live bait—or the ability to catch it—continues to give anglers a huge advantage. The Snapper bite has been a bit slower due to weak currents, so we’ve been putting out a spread and covering all the bases. This week we found a beautiful 24-inch Red Grouper along with some nice Mangrove Snapper in the backcountry. Positioning the boat and presenting baits properly has been the difference-maker. There are plenty of fish to be found, but avoiding slack tides and targeting deeper channels where fish seek cooler water will greatly improve your chances.
