Some of the finest striped bass fishing

It's here, the summer. Or feels that way to me. Fishing the past few days has been good. Some beautiful Block Island stripers. Big fish that pull hard. The bent rod. Again, as I always say: people love this. I love this. The whole damn scene from the birds to the roll of the ocean. Some decent bottom fishing trips on the 4 hr trips. Fluke, scup, sea bass.

We are finally getting some good bottom fishing trips. It's not electric fishing; we need to work at it. We fish, move, fish, move. It's work---fun work. People love it. In the end almost always people bring fish home to cook. We are proud of these fish and we want you to enjoy them for dinner. Rhode Island seafood. Summertime.

We have a lot of bait around. Tons of sand eels and tons of squid. The bait has drawn in the predators. Fishing lately has been very good on big striped bass. We've been getting them on live eels and soft plastics on jigheads. Block Island and Newport have both been good. But the bait has also brought in fluke and porgies. The bottom bite is getting better and better after a sluggish start. See you soon.
