Kako se lovi
Šaran se najčešće lovi na jednostavan mamac od kuvanog ili konzerviranog kukuruza ili domaće testo kuglice. Prihranjivanje kukuruzom pomaže da se privuče jato šarana, a ribolov na prihranjenim mestima trebalo bi da donese ugriz. Šaran je snažna riba koja pravi jak početni potez, ali se relativno brzo umara.
Da li je dobra za jelo?
Smatra se delikatesom u Evropi i Aziji, ali je nedovoljno cenjena u Severnoj Americi.
