Alaska Halibut Fishing Charters

You never know what you are going to catch at the bottom of the ocean. The waters surrounding Ketchikan, Alaska are home to many different types of bottom fish. You can find halibut, ling cod, pacific cod and various types of rock fish. Halibut are the biggest fish we catch in these areas. They are incredibly tasty to eat and can be absolutely enormous. This trip will use 2 hours of the time traveling to and from the Halibut holes located in the Southern area of Lynn Cannel. Halibut regulations require that you only keep one fish less than 44 inches or over 80 inches. Once all fishermen have their one Halibut they want to keep, you will fish for Salmon or Rockfish. The Halibut do not arrive in the Juneau area until June 15. This is not an exclusive charter. The 5% sales tax applies to the amount of remaining balance on the day of the trip.

Up to 4 hours of fishing for Halibut and other bottom fish. Frequently we will catch Pacific Cod, Black Cod, Rockfish and Lingcod

Having the full day range, we are able to get out to more productive grounds as we target King Salmon, Coho Salmon, Pink Salmon, Ling Cod, Black Sea bass, Pacific cod and Black cod. While the fish count is greater on these charters we often see more wildlife along the way as well including Humpback whales and Porpoises. I highly recommend this charter as i strive to make it memorable and abundant with the catch. Fish Processing is offered at the dock we depart from and we also offer lodging if needed.

This is mainly a Halibut fishing trip and is a short run out to the fishing grounds. The average size of Halibut is around 30 pounds with occasional larger Halibut. This is a good trip for a quick limit.

This is a shared trip, approximately 8 to 9 hours in length. Halibut is our primary target, and work to catch everyone's daily limit. Other bottom fishing species are targeted based upon time remaining in the day and what is biting. These bottom species can include rockfish, and pacific cod. Additionally, we may also target salmon via our unique fishing method of Mooching. If you want to catch halibut and have a great day fishing while enjoying Alaska, this is your trip.
