(3 Hour Trip – Family Fun)

Great day out on the Bay

Had a great morning out. Aside from a good tour of Casco Bay, I was able to catch my limit of Mackerel, my whole goal in going out. Definitely recommended.

(6hr Trip - Ground Fishing (PM))

    Great Trip and Experience

Booked this charter for myself and my 8 year old son. Before we even got to the fishing grounds I knew we’d be booking another. Incredibly knowledgeable captain and crew. Kept my son engaged in fishing the whole time while catching a ton of fish at captain Derek’s “fishing holes”. More than once he brought us to places that were full of fish. His deckhand Avery was amazing with my son. Highly recommend this charter. Thanks again guys. You made us some great memories!

    nothing short of awesome

Captain Derek and Cory are 100% the real deal fisherman. very knowledgeable and cool days to spend a day on the water. They worked hard and put us on fish all day. My arms are sore typing this msg. Thanks for the work out!! :) Highly highly highly recommended. This is coming from someone who has Pacific Sailfish in Costa Rica to Swordfish in the Florida Keys mounted on the wall.

O Pollock ribolovu

Veličina
4 to 15lbs
Vrednost hrane
Odlično
Game Quality
Dobro

Pollock are Cod-like fish of similar appearance and taste, but higher availability and game quality.

How big

They can grow over 3.5ft and 50lbs, with fish between 2 to 3ft and 4 to 15lbs being average.

Distribution

This species is native to the cold northern Atlantic waters, spanning from Greenland to Virginia in the west and from Iceland to the Bay of Biscay to the east. It's recreationally caught most often just north of Cape Cod, MA (where they can even be caught from the shore). Their relative, the Alaska Pollock (Theragra chalcogramma), can be found in the northern Pacific Ocean.

How to catch

Pollock live in depths up to 600ft, but, unlike Cod, they can often be caught close to the surface, where they tend to school and feed.

Natural bait choices include herring, shrimp, squid, clams or worms, and artificials can be spoons, plugs, spinners, tube lures, various jigs and flies. Pollock are strong fighting fish, making fierceful dives to the line-cutting rock structures on the bottom, as well as ocasional aerial leaps accompanied by hook-throwing head shakes. They're a real angler's delight.

Good to eat?

The flesh is considered excellent eating.
