The captain will catch bait upon availability in the morning. This trip will be in 100% calm waters.

Tarpon fishing in Puerto Rico is all about power, speed, and acrobatic jumps. The “Silver King” thrives in the island’s warm, inshore waters. Calm bays, mangroves, and urban lagoons hold fish year-round, so you can chase Tarpon close to shore and close to town.
Guides target Tarpon with live baits and lures on spinning gear. Mullet, sardines, and threadfin herring are common live baits. Soft plastics and diving plugs also work well around channel edges and mangrove points. Fly fishing is popular in clear pockets and tidal seams, using dark flies when the water is stained.
Trips usually run on shallow-draft boats with plenty of casting space. Runs are short, so you spend more time fishing and less time riding. This is great for first-timers, families, and anglers who want action without rough seas. Bring sun protection, polarized sunglasses, a hat, and non-marking shoes.
