Great day out there. Coho fishing is almost non-stop and when you target them, big chinooks are on the bottom! We grabbed a couple nice cod for some fish and chips as a bonus!

Great coho fishing this mornjng with no shortage of action on the rods. This family kept at em theough some rain and was rewarded with a number kf nice fish and load of crab to take home!

Chinook salmon fishing has been productive with large fish showing up on most trips. The action has been non stop. This guest on a trip yesterday landed a number of king salmon and retained this beauty.

Good Coho fishing continues in Nanaimo

During the past month, Coho salmon fishing in Nanaimo has remained steady. On Canada Day, with calm water and warm temperatures, the bite seemed a little off. However, with some patience and perseverance, we were still able to get our great group of youngsters into a few fish they could take home for dinner. With dinner aboard, we changed tactics and tried going for lingcod. Instead, we ended up catching some of the largest Quillback and Cooper Rockfish I have ever seen. Catch My Drift – Ucluelet Trips

Definitely get a freshwater and saltwater license, which gives you more options depending where the fish are biting. June can be slower apparently for sturgeon, so patience is key. But well worth the wait!
