Expect to catch & release a lot. Undersized and wild salmon (that still have their rear dorsal fin, which fisheries snip off) cannot be kept.
Also, do not expect a luxury cruise. The boat is a working fishing vessel, with limited seating and a primitive head.

I would recommend the children take Dramamine or Gravol prior to the experience and dress appropriately otherwise no need to worry about anything. Just enjoy the time.

Catch My Drift – Ucluelet Trips
Great fishing but very small town. If you are planning on cooking while you are there its a great idea to stop in Sooke to get groceries or bring them with you. The only market is very small.

Definitely get a freshwater and saltwater license, which gives you more options depending where the fish are biting. June can be slower apparently for sturgeon, so patience is key. But well worth the wait!
