We were first ones out and it was a delight to finally see a calmer ocean. We knew it wouldn’t last long so we took advantage of the time landing 3 nice Dorado and a marlin before 0630! It was a great start to the day. The first one is always the hardest one!! We were fortunate to have a good bite close to shore (2-3 miles) as the wind and swell farther out was shredding big time. We followed the ledge inside the Sea of Cortez and rousted up a fat dorado and another marlin release. As the wind angle changed it started to pound us pretty good. We pounded into busting water and were able to go 1 for 3 on the marlin bites and had another release. Then Mother Nature turned on the fan and it was ripping. We trolled closer inshore getting a few more bites and another dorado in the bag! We finished up our day heading back to the Cape taking some big ones over the bow and blowing spray all yhe way up to ghe flybridge. It was nice to finally pull into the calm of the bay. Matthew and the boys did a fantastic job catching a bagfull of nice dorado and getting multiple marlin releases! And yes we do tag and release the marlin as we’re long time members of the Billfish Foundation! Let em go and let em grow! Anyway it was a fab day on the water despite get shalacked and pummeled for awhile! Another great day in San Lucas! Yarrrr! ?☠️?☠️
