Red Finn Charters 

We had a great 4 hour trip with captain Zach. We went down a man early due to motion sickness, and had to run all the way back to the dock to drop him off to buy a Shirley Temple at the restaurant in the marina. We lost some time, but captain Zach still put us on an incredible Spanish mackerel bite - we landed 43 in total! Since we lost some time, Zach stayed out with us beyond our normal time and tried his best to locate some cobia and reds even though we were limited to areas close to shore. Near the end of the trip, Zach spotted a pod of dolphins and raced over to them so that we could get up close and personal with them - they were right next to our boat. We had a phenominal trip, and I will definitely book with him again the next time we hit the OBX. Next time, I'll book a full day trip and we'll get after some monsters off shore :)

Our trip by Guide Captain Zach was amazing. We caught trophy size fish for 4 hours straight. My daughter, son and I caught 40+ fish. None were smaller than 30 pounds. Sizes ranged from 35” to 45” inches. And, 3 were 50”! A 50 inch fish is 50 pounds. Zach's boat, gear, and experience is top notch! We will book again!

We had a great time with Zach. Not sure if it was the hurricanes on the east coast or what but apparently it was a slow day for fishing, so it took us a bit to find the fish. But the whole time you could tell Zach was determined to find them. Then all of a sudden it was a frenzy and we caught 7 blue fish which came out to 48lbs of fish. It was awesome! Definitely will be going back to fish with Zach and highly recommend him.

Captain was super attentive and moved us around when fish weren’t biting so we could hook as many as possible. Good conversation, great boat, amazing trip!

Captain Zach is the man! He kept us on the fish all day when other charters we're struggling to find the fish. We even had time to get some clams. Which was a good refreshing break from fishing. His knowledge of the area, where to go what to use is awesome. He has a great personality and isn't afraid to share his tips, tricks and knowledge either. This was my son in laws first deep sea fishing experience and he is now addicted like the rest of us thanks to Captain Zach. He was also wore out by the end of the day from all the hook ups. Check out the video, lol. The bottom line is an all day trip with Captain Zach will give you a variety of options and opportunities to catch fish. We also caught cobia and flounder and lost a few here and there. Made an attempt at sheepshead and even shark. (Per my request). I could go on and on. Can't wait for our next trip with the best captain in Hatteras, Captain Zach. Best wishes and stay safe out there.

We had an awesome half day morning session with Capt Zach to kick off our week at the beach. The weather and waters looked ominous but Zach forged ahead and we are super glad he did. We hooked up immediately after dropping anchor and had 9 awesome fights throughout the day. Zach was an awesome captain, super chill and made it feel like it was just 3 buddies out there fishing. We had the marina filet our catch by the expert knife man and took a stroll through the shop. The location was super convenient to us staying in Avon and we will be sure to book with Zach next year. Awesome dude, thanks for everything!

Omg we had so much fun! I originally booked for Wednesday morning and Zach reached out right away and said he didn’t think the weather would be good enough for the few first timers I had on the trip. He helped me push it to Thursday, waited for the weather to clear and we went out promptly as he suggested. He knew right where to go, we were hooking red drum left and right - we had the BEST time. Everyone with me agreed they’d do it again next year and it will 100% be with Zach. Other than being an excellent captain he is a wonderful person. So personable, told us great stories, tips and jokes. All around awesome!!!

Zach is great guy and worked with us around bad weather. When we did get out we immediately caught fish! When we limited out, Zach took us to a wreck that he recently found and we got our limit of sheephead there! We’re three old guys that have been fishing all of our lives but we were like 12 year old kids having a blast yanking in fish after fish. I would definitely recommend Zach’s charter service!

We were impressed with Zach from weeks before the trip as he was very responsive to questions about the trip and weather. Then the day we were supposed to go out it was very cold and windy. He was so nice to change the day so we would have an enjoyable trip. The day we were out he worked extremely hard to find an area where the fish were biting so the kids could catch fish. He taught them how to land their fish and was so encouraging during and after. Especially as a parent I'd HIGHLY recommend Zach. It was a memorable family trip we won't forget.
