Climb aboard their 2024 Smoker Craft aluminum fishing boat, measuring 21' in length. She's capable of holding 5 anglers fishing at the same time in comfort, along with the captain. A wireless trolling motor is installed onboard, to keep you steady in the river as well as allow you to sneak up to the spookiest fish. A state-of-the-art system of navigation and fishfinding is also available, as well as custom seating and Garmin electronics.
The waters of Detroit River are teeming with Walleye, and captain Damon Herndon knows all the best fishing spots. He's been fishing the river for over two decades now, refining his technique into a fine art - which he's more than happy to share with his clients. Jigging is the name of the game on this charter and the charter provides all equipment that you may need.
Cleaning and filleting your catch is available free of charge on the Detroit River. All equipment required is provided by the charter. A valid fishing Michigan and 1 day Canadian fishing license must be acquired before starting your fishing trip. Customers are advised to bring a waterproof camera, adequate clothing, polarized sunglasses, and sunscreen.

Great time guys!
The only reason the overall experience got three stars was because we expected to be jigging or drifting in the river. This is the trip we thought we booked and because the captain had “prior engagements” he launched on Lake Erie and we trolled. This did not give the personal experience of feeling the bite, setting the hook, and reeling in the fish with a sensitive pole. Rather we all sat in the boat waiting for the next planet board to trip and one guy got to reel in the fish without feeling the fight. Just not the experience we expected. Everything else was good. The advertisement says that fish cleaning is included but it’s not! We had to take our fish to a bait shop and wait over an hour and PAY/TIP the guy. Just a heads up.
Captain Damon is very knowledgeable, got us right on the fish, and really did a terrific job with our charter. A true professional, great person to have this experience with. He made our charter a time to remember. I highly recommend About Time Charters. Sincerely, Jim
Capt. Damon was great. Took us out to a spot where we hit walleye right away. Had to run back towards land due to some major chop, but he got us back into action and we limited out thanks to his expert knowledge. Boat and gear were in top condition and the day was a great way to treat my buddy after helping me move cross country. Hoping to catch Capt. Damon for a river trip next spring!!

We had a great time with Captain Damon. Despite the season being a little slow he was able to put our group who had never did for walleye on fish, and we caught our first walleye. With the captain driving it was easy to keep the line vertical, and I understand that is the difficulty in vertical jigging. He mad it easy and was patient with our group including our four boys.
