Captain Morgan Charters is the name to remember for deep sea anglers everywhere. Capt. David Morgan has been taking groups offshore for over a decade in search of Yellowfin Tuna and other bluewater favorites. He has made a name for himself as the man to go to in Venice, LA, fondly known as “The Fishing Capital of the World.”

The Louisiana Gulf Coast is the dream playground for big game anglers. Oil rigs litter the coastline 30-50 miles offshore and are magnets for a wide range of fish species. Captain David spends his life out at the rigs, making him the perfect man to get you on the huge fish they attract.

You will mainly be targeting Yellowfin Tuna, which can be caught year-round and are as loved for their fight as they are for their food value. You can also find Swordfish, Mahi Mahi, and even Marlin hunting here, as well as bottom fish like Red Snapper, Scamp Grouper, and Amberjack.

With so many fish to choose from, you will need a sturdy boat and plenty of quality equipment. That is exactly what you will find with Captain Morgan Charters. Capt. David’s 38’ Fountain center console has high sides to keep you and your children safe, and rockets offshore in no time thanks to her triple 350HP Mercury Verados.

The boat is equipped with a full battery of marine electronics to make sure you find your target. Once you do, her outriggers and downriggers will get your lines exactly where they need to be. You will fish for fresh bait on your trip, so no hook will stay untouched for long. Once a fish bites, all-Shimano tackle will let you hold your own against the biggest fish in the Gulf.

At the end of your trip, all your fish will be cleaned and filleted for you, so remember to bring a cooler to put it all in! You will also need a valid saltwater fishing license for everyone onboard. Please be aware that fuel is not included, and could cost anywhere from $300 to $1000, depending on the trip.
