Southern Pro Charters
Book your next trip with Southern Pro Charters and find out what makes the fishing in Venice so unique. Your guide for the day is Captain Chad, which means you'll tap into years of angling experience.
Fishing around here will often see you targeting Yellowfin Tuna, Amberjack, Cobia, Mahi, Mangrove Snapper, Red Snapper, Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo, Grouper, and more, depending on conditions.
All trips are +fuel which means the customers are responsible for paying the fuel bill at the time of return to the dock. Average fuel bill is around $800 for tuna, it can vary on time of the year and the area we are fishing. Tuna tend to be farther out while snapper, cobia and grouper are closer in and usually a fuel bill around $500.
On the day of your trip, you're likely to live bait or troll and bottom fish using heavy tackle.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Also, remember to bring snacks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!
You'll step aboard a 39' Contender center console with a capacity for 6 passengers with all the essentials.
You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. It's customary to tip the Mate 15-20% to show your appreciation.
You might need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
Don't leave home without sunscreen (non-spray), bottled water, and sunglasses. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
*Fuel is not included in the price of the fishing trip*

Capt Pique and Zach gave us an experience we will never forget. Great environment and knew what they were doing. put us on Tuna. got a couple good keepers to start and then a Monster 195 lb Tuna. Our 10 hr trip turned into 12 becuase us fighting the Monster for 3 hrs. They never batted an eye. They actually apologized for running out of time for the Snapper we planned to hit. Trip of a lifetime. Thanks!!

Venice, Louisiana, United States
Captain Chad Pique is native to South Louisiana, where he grew up hunting and fishing. Chad became a deckhand in 2008 and it did not take him long to become one of the best guides in Venice. Chad enjoys the competitiveness that comes along with being a captain in Venice. Capt Chad has a passion for Tuna fishing and loves to share his passion with his customers by putting them on fish. Part of the thrill is that every day on the water is totally different and you never know what each day will bring. One of his most memorable days was catching three Yellowfin Tuna over 200 lbs in one day. Chad does his best every day to do for his customers what he would want done for him and he strives to make the right decisions for his customers everyday. Being an offshore captain isn't an easy job, but he loves doing it day in and day out. Come join us for a day on the water and see what Venice has to offer!
