Alaskan Widespread Fishing Adventures
Mindy and Reubin Payne are long-time professional guides on the Kenai Peninsula. Mindy's father is a long-time guide in Alaska, so Mindy grew up in the business, bought her first boat, and started guiding at 22 years old.
Reubin hitchhiked to Alaska as a college student 29 years ago and fell in love with the great state and the fishing opportunities! He guided for an upscale lodge on the Cook Inlet where he learned the fishery, the business, and the community. He started his own business in 2001 after 9 years of living and guiding on the Kenai Peninsula. Now after guiding Alaska for over 25 years, he still loves to fish!
Mindy, Reubin, and their Alaskan Widespread Fishing Adventures professional captains offer exciting full-day trips for Salmon, Rockfish, Lingcod, and Halibut on the Cook Inlet. You will be fishing aboard their 32' Koffler boat, fresh on the water in 2010. This spacious vessel can cruise at a top speed of 45 knots thanks to its twin 250 Suzuki engines. There is plenty of room aboard for up to 6 anglers to fish in comfort and style.
The boat is outfitted with modern navigational and fish-finding electronics to build up a clear image of where the fish are hiding. There is also an ice-box to keep the catch fresh during the day.
All trips with Alaskan Widespread Fishing Adventures come inclusive with gear, tackle, bait, lures, and fly fishing equipment if needed. Your fish will also be cleaned by the crew at the end of your adventure. The only thing that is missing is you!

5 stars all day long. Captain Kyle and the entire crew were awesome from start to finish. Everybody was knowledgeable, worked hard, and put us right on the fish. I limited out on halibut and brought in a handful of cod too. Couldn’t have asked for a better trip or better people to spend the day with. If I make it back to Alaska, I’ll absolutely be booking with them again!
Daniel, thank you for fishing with us and thank you for the excellent review. We really appreciate your business and please come visit again! If we can help you in anyway, with any of your fishing or riverfront lodging needs , please don’t hesitate to call or email. Safe travels, Reubin
This was the first time we fished for halibut. We booked an 8 hour charter. I was disappointed that the captain was late, but stuff happens. We have all been late to something before. It just kinda sucks, when you get up early and nudge the family along, pack and check out of the hotel. Arrive to the boat early, only to find that the crew is late. We left the harbor about two hours late. There are allot of boats out, it just gets you thinking that some of the better fishing spots may have been taken and the fish may be more active in the early morning. We stayed on the spit for a couple of days and some of charters bring their catch up near the Coal Point Trading Company for pictures and they had some very large halibuts. Starting late was the only issue. The crew was very friendly and knowledgeable. They baited the hooks with frozen herring, gaffed the halibut and brought it into the boat. I appreciated the effort in trying to land a large halibut and persistence in getting the limit. It was beautiful day, could not ask for better weather. Boat and equipment was in good condition. The crew was very nice and professional. Good experience!
Hello John, Thank you so much for fishing with us and we are very sorry about the situation with our captain being so late. At the time that our deckhand called us, to inform us that the captain was missing, we were VERY worried about his safety and thought something must have happened. This situation had never happened before, and after many attempts to contact him, we immediately had a neighboring friend do a welfare check on him, at his home. We sincerely apologize and want you to know how uncharacteristic that situation was. We try to control what we can control, and timeliness is the top priority on that list. We do hope that you'll give us another shot and we hope to see you again in the future. We value your time, and you can bank that it won't happen again. We hope you enjoy your Alaskan catch throughout this winter! Tight lines, Mindy Payne

Captain Kyle and Mate Noah were very professional and eager to help us catch fish. Anglers ranged from 13 to 80. All of us caught halibut. Noah had our catch cleaned and ready when we got to the return dock. We dined on fresh fish and shared great memories.
Thank you for the review Ken, we appreciate your business and your feedback. Have a great summer and enjoy your halibut fillets !!
They did a great job! We're going home happy with a full cooler. My families' first ocean fishing trip and wanted to catch halibut. Captain and crew were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They coached and monitored our progess and made the trip a total success. First site was good until cod catches started. Relocated and caught 3 halibut in just a few minutes.
