Fins n’ Tails – Fishing Charters of New Smyrna Beach: by Captain Matt Hodges offers inshore & near shore fishing on the beaches of New Smyrna and Daytona, saltwater estuaries of New Smyrna Beach and the famous Mosquito Lagoon area. Although Capt. Matt specializes in catching Redfish, Trout and Flounder, you can also frequently catch Tarpon, Jacks and other species with Fins n’ Tails Charters.

You will be fishing on a restored Aquasport 222 Professional. This boat was built to get to and fish in all types of waters shallow and deep.  The captain provides everything you’ll need other than yourself. Rods, Reels, Bait and Tackle are all included.

You should bring sunscreen and hydration.  A cooler is provided for your drinks and food. If you are planning on taking any fish home, just let the captain know so that he can plan that out as well. Cleaning fish at the ramp has been prohibited but arrangements can be made.

Captain Matt has been an avid angler since the age of 4. He has fished all over the Eastern Seaboard, Gulf Waters of the US and Central American Pacific waters.  He has also spent a lot of time in the Caribbean waters and Central America fishing all kinds of species. He takes the knowledge from fishing all these areas and applies many different techniques to the fishing he does now.

Capt. Matt started fishing before he could walk. He began actively fishing with his Dad at the age of 5 and hasn't stopped since then! He has traveled across the Eastern Seaboard, the Gulf of Mexico and all over the Caribbean, fishing both the Saltwater Flats and offshore.
