El Gato Especial Fishing 

Took my family of 5 on this fishing trip, it was the first for all of us and we had the best time ever. We all caught fish, enjoyed the waves and drinks. The captain was awesome, he moved the boat when the fish weren't biting much and when it was all over he filled the fish we caught. We will definitely be booking again!

We did a 4 hour trip in the morning and had a great time! Our capitan/ fishing guide was great on getting us hooked on quick and relocating when the bite died. Ended up getting plenty of fish to take home. We even got bullied by a sea lion for a while! Super cool! Great for smaller group.

Everybody was on time and we had a beautiful morning fishing trip. Definitely recommend!

Went for 1/2 day bottom fishing with El Gato Especial fishing. Everything went very well. We were greeted at the fishing charter area right on time and then introduced to our Captain who had the boat ready to go, equipped with baits, rods, water, sodas, and beers! Once on the water, we were able to catch a fair amount of fish ranging from triggerfish, black sea bass, and sea trout. Captain Jose knows the area very well as we went to about four different areas to keep catching fish! Once back in port, he filleted oud all our fishes. He was very pleasant and we joked about the size of some of our catches. I would recommend El Gato Especial Fishing and will not hesitate to book again next time we are in Puerto Penasco.

This was our second trip out with them and man let me tell you this trip was even better than the first and the first was a blast! This guy does not disappoint! I know they call It fishing and not catching but this captain knows his stuff! We saw other boats out but we were the only ones catching fish and nonstop! Always super friendly and takes care of everything for you. We will 100% always come back and book with them

Great trip, exactly what we expected for a half day trip. Changed Locations several times to find the fish and finally found them. Captain was great and made sure our hooks were baited at all times.

Our Captain, José, was so great with our family. He was extremely patient and helped us catch more fish than we ever expected. The wind and waves were challenging but he navigated us to an excellent area for catching fish. Will definitely recommend to friends and family and will re- book with José Salazar on our next trip.

Captain Jose Salazar was a friendly and capable skipper. He was very attentive to our needs and took good care of my 83 yo father. We caught some nice fish and many small ones which is par for the course when bottom fishing here. The boat is comfortable with space for up to 4 anglers. It is a little old and can use some work, but certainly serviceable. The fishing gear is also a little worn and could use updating, but serviceable for the bottom fishing we were doing. The knowledge and friendly nature of Capitan Jose definitely outweigh any of the minor gear issues. You will have fun and catch fish aboard El Gato.

Thank you Captain Checo!! We had an amazing time!! We started the day fishing for bait. Upon arriving to our final destination for big fish, we immediately started catching trigger fish. There were several boats fishing around us watching us catch fish, while they were not catching anything. After catching a 67lbs grouper and a 33lbs grouper other boats swarmed to our location. Even still they were not catching fish. They just watched us reel in trigger fish left and right. We ended the day with 20 trigger fish and 3 giant grouper. I am certain the success of our trip was due to the experience with the el gato crew! I will only be using Captain Checo from now on while I stay in Puerto Peñasco.
