Captain Makis Karamolegos is a local fishing veteran who started Pirate Fishing Tours with a single goal - to share his passion for angling with clients and make sure they discover the unique fishing opportunities of this incredible island.
He welcomes you on his 30’ Kreta Mare cruiser, a fast, safe and comfortable boat, especially designed for cruising the waters of Greece. Thanks to a 370 HP Iveco engine, you’ll be cruising Santorini caldera at an impressive maximum speed of 34 knots. The boat is big enough to accommodate up to 10 guests, out of which three can fish at the same time.
The vessel is perfect for the open seas, equipped with top-of-the-line safety and navigational gear and a full restroom, a shower, and a kitchen, that will guarantee maximum comfort during longer trips. If this isn’t enough for you, there’s also a TV, a refrigerator, and air-conditioning on board.
You’ll be exploring the best fishing spots of Santorini caldera up to 5 miles from the coast, where Tuna and Grouper can get colossal. Besides these species, you’ll be targeting Barracuda, Bass, Snapper, and whatever else is biting. Jigging is the captain’s preferred technique, and he’ll show you all the tricks for landing big boys.
Pirate Fishing Tours will supply you with the best professional fishing gear and show you the hottest fisheries at numerous reefs teeming with fish. Traditional Santorinian snacks, drinks, and fish cleaning will also be included in the price, along with snorkeling gear and towels.

We had an incredible experience with Pirate Fishing Tours in Santorini! Even though the fish weren't biting much that day, it was more than enough for a delicious BBQ that the crew cooked for us right on board—fresh, flavorful, and unforgettable.
Captain Makis, with over 30 years of fishing experience around Santorini, made the trip even more special by sharing stories from his life as a fisherman. His passion for the sea really shines through. The boat itself was custom-built, very comfortable, and perfectly suited for a relaxing day on the water.
The crew, Maria and Elias, were simply outstanding—funny, kind, knowledgeable about the island, and always making sure we had drinks in hand. They kept the mood light, the laughs going, and created such a welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home.

Captain Makis and his daughter Maria and their BB 😆 Elias were great. So much fun! Experienced, professional and knowledgeable. Elias was super personable and Makis knew the waters and islands like the back of his hand. Great back story. Maria is a sweet girl that my daughter got to sit and chat with. Unfortunately we only caught 1 fish (bluefin), they didn't seem to be biting but they figured out how to make a lunch of it…which was delicious. Even my 9 year old complimented the food. They took us to a beautiful cove to snorkel and swim. Would definitely recommend!

My wife and I had an amazing day with this Captain and Crew! We trolled for grouper all around the islands while learning about the vast history of the volcanic eruptions that created Santorini. At lunch time we slipped into a cove for some snorkeling and a beautiful meal prepared by Makis, his daughter Maria, and deck hand Ilias. If you are going to fish in Santorini it has to be with Makis and crew! We certainly got a full Greek family experience.

Mikas & Elios were very prompt to the dock welcoming us with high fives, smiles, and hugs. They were a wealth of knowledge in sharing the history of Santorini. Within the first few minutes of departing, we had our lines in the water in search of grouper. We caught fish right away. They pulled off into a little cove and the captain cooked us a delicious meal that included fresh ceviche from the fish we caught. The boat was beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. Atmosphere was incredible and very scenic. We would do this again if we return to Santorini.

Captain Makis and First Mate Ilios (Spelling?) were great. Shared alot of info around the area. We had a fantastic lunch with the fish that we had caught. I have previously fished with this Captain and have never been disappointed. He had a very nice new boat this year. It was nice to see things are going well for him. This is the Captain that you need to fish with in Santorini!
